And when accomplishing the samadhi of the door of liberation of the signless, and accomplishing the samadhi of the door of liberation of the wishless, then, until all-knowingness is not obtained, it should be known that the true limit is not manifested in the intermediate state, which is the skillful means that is not common. Furthermore, Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, such as this, in the emptiness of the inner, the emptiness of the outer, the emptiness of the inner and outer, and between the emptiness of the nature of non-things, and the mindfulness, the right abandonment, the foot of miraculous power, the power, the strength, the limb of enlightenment, the eightfold path of the noble, the three doors of liberation, and those profound places, if he wants to investigate, then he should think like this: These sentient beings have been thinking of themselves as self, thinking of themselves as sentient beings, thinking of themselves as life, thinking of themselves as going, thinking of themselves as nourishing, thinking of themselves as men, thinking of themselves as persons, thinking of themselves as born of power, thinking of themselves as sons of power, thinking of themselves as doers, thinking of themselves as feelers, and thinking of themselves as those who cause to feel, so they practice with objects, and for the sake of abandoning those objects, I will manifest the supreme perfect enlightenment, become perfectly enlightened, and teach the Dharma. At that time, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, although abiding in the samadhi of the door of liberation of emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, does not manifest any true limit, such as obtaining the fruit of entering the stream, or the fruit of once returning, or the fruit of not returning, or obtaining the state of Arhat, or obtaining self-enlightenment. Subhuti, in this way, the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva's roots of virtue of generating the mind, and being endowed with skillful means, do not manifest the true limit in the intermediate state. The four meditations, the four immeasurables, the four formless absorptions, the four mindfulnesses, etc.

A Bodhisattva-Mahasattva thinks thus: "These beings have long been practicing the four inversions; they practice the perception of permanence, the perception of pleasure, the perception of self, and the perception of purity. For their sake, I shall practice towards enlightenment. Having manifestly awakened to unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment, I shall teach the Dharma in such a way that they will never wander in permanence, pleasure, self, or purity." Possessing such a mind and skillfully practicing the Perfection of Wisdom, one does not perfect the ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, the eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, great loving-kindness, and great compassion, nor does one realize the true limit. At that time, even if the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abides in the samadhi of the emptiness gate of liberation, the signless gate of liberation, and the wishless gate of liberation, one does not realize the true limit until one manifestly awakens to unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment. Furthermore, Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva thinks thus: "These beings have long been practicing with objects of focus, namely, clinging to what is called 'self,' or 'sentient being,' or 'life,' or 'goer,' or 'person,' or 'pudgala,' or 'born of strength,' or 'born,' or 'doer,' or 'feeler,' or 'knower,' or 'seer,' or 'form,' or 'feeling,' or 'perception,' or 'formations,' or 'consciousness,' or 'sense-sources,' or 'elements,' or 'dependent arising,' or 'the perfections,' or 'emptinesses,' or 'the factors of enlightenment,' or 'the noble truths,' or 'meditations,' or 'immeasurables,' or 'formless absorptions,' or 'liberations,' or 'successive abidings in samadhi,' or 'emptiness,' or 'signlessness,' or 'wishlessness,' or 'supernormal knowledges,' or 'samadhi.'
