The white result of white dharmas is gods and humans. The result of black and white dharmas is experiencing black and white happiness and suffering. The non-black and non-white result of non-black and non-white dharmas is the fruit of stream-enterer, the fruit of once-returner, the fruit of non-returner, the state of Arhat, self-awakening, and unsurpassed perfect complete awakening. Thus, it will be explained and distinguished. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, the conventional truth is taken as the standard, and the distinction of fruits is taught. But in the ultimate truth, the distinction of fruits cannot be taught. Why is that? Because that dharma is beyond conceptualization, beyond expression, and without designation. It is like this: it is not true, without form, without birth, without cessation, without all afflictions, and without purification. This is emptiness that transcends limits, emptiness without beginning and end. He asked: Blessed One, if it is so, if the conventional truth is taken as the basis for distinguishing the fruits, and not the ultimate truth, then all ordinary beings will also attain the fruit of stream-enterer, the fruit of once-returner, the fruit of non-returner, the state of Arhat, self-awakening, and unsurpassed perfect complete awakening. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, do ordinary beings know the conventional truth or the ultimate truth? If they know, then they will also be established as the fruit of stream-enterer, the fruit of once-returner, the fruit of non-returner, the state of Arhat, self-awakening, and unsurpassed perfect complete awakening. Subhuti, ordinary beings have no path, no establishment of the path, and no cultivation of the path, so how can the fruits be established for ordinary beings? Subhuti, noble beings have the path and the cultivation of the path, therefore, the fruits can be established for those noble beings.

It exists. Request: World Honored One, is it by cultivating the path that one attains the fruit, or is there no such thing as attaining the fruit? The World Honored One said: Subhuti, it is not so. It is not by cultivating the path that one attains the fruit, or that there is no such thing as attaining the fruit. Subhuti, without cultivating the path, there is also no attaining the fruit, nor is there attaining the fruit of the path. Without abiding in the path, there is also no attaining the fruit. Subhuti, in this way, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, they skillfully establish the fruits of sentient beings, but they do not distinguish between the conditioned and unconditioned realms, nor do they establish the fruits. Request: World Honored One, if it is as such that there is no distinguishing between the conditioned or unconditioned realms, and there is no such thing as establishing the fruits, then how can the World Honored One say that this is the fruit of Stream-enterer by abandoning the three bonds, the fruit of Once-returner by weakening desire and hatred, the fruit of Non-returner by abandoning the five lower fetters, the state of Arhat by abandoning the five higher fetters, and that by knowing all arising phenomena as having the nature of cessation, one attains Pratyekabuddha enlightenment, and that by abandoning all afflictions connected by habitual tendencies, one attains perfect and complete enlightenment. World Honored One, if there is no distinguishing and no establishing of the fruits of conditioned or unconditioned dharmas, how should I understand the meaning of what you have said? The World Honored One said: Subhuti, is the fruit of Stream-enterer, or the fruit of Once-returner, or the fruit of Non-returner, or the state of Arhat, or Pratyekabuddha enlightenment, or unsurpassed perfect and complete enlightenment conditioned or unconditioned? Request: World Honored One, that is not conditioned. The Tathagata is not conditioned. The World Honored One said: Subhuti, then is there distinction in the unconditioned dharma? Request: World Honored One, that is not so. The World Honored One

The Blessed One said: Subhuti, what do you think? When a son or daughter of good family, regarding conditioned or unconditioned dharmas, such as when the signless is merged into one sign, at that time, does he know conditioned or unconditioned dharmas, or is there any distinction made regarding any dharma? Blessed One, that is not so. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, likewise, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, for example, abiding closely between emptiness of inner and emptiness of the nature of non-entity, he does not teach the Dharma by distinguishing sentient beings. They are also the Perfection of Giving, or the Perfection of Ethics, or the Perfection of Patience, or the Perfection of Diligence, or the Perfection of Meditation, or the Perfection of Wisdom, or the first Dhyana, or the second Dhyana, or the third Dhyana, or the fourth Dhyana, or Loving-kindness, or Compassion, or Joy, or Equanimity, or the absorption of the sphere of infinite space, or the absorption of the sphere of infinite consciousness, or the absorption of the sphere of nothingness, or the absorption of the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, or the mindfulness, or the right abandonments, or the feet of miraculous power, or the faculties, or the powers, or the limbs of enlightenment, or the path, or the noble truths, or the meditations, or the immeasurables, or the formless absorptions, or the liberations, or the successive abidings of absorption, or emptiness, or signlessness, or wishlessness, or the superknowledges, or the samadhis, or the gateways of dharanis, or the powers of the Tathagata, or the fearlessnesses, or the separate perfect knowledges, or the great loving-kindness, or the great compassion, or the unmixed dharmas of the Buddha, up to the all-knowingness, there is no attachment to any dharma. Because there is no attachment, there is no clinging to anything. For example,
