From the earth up to the state of omniscience, because there is nothing to focus on, the Perfection of Wisdom is completely pure. This is known as the knowledge of dharma with regard to cessation. Subhuti, because all phenomena are without arising, without ceasing, without defilement, and without purification, the Perfection of Wisdom is completely pure. Subhuti asked: World-Honored One, how is it that because all phenomena are without arising, without ceasing, without defilement, and without purification, the Perfection of Wisdom is completely pure? The World-Honored One replied: From form up to the state of omniscience, because it is extremely pure, the Perfection of Wisdom is completely pure. This is known as the forbearance of subsequent knowledge with regard to cessation. Subhuti asked: World-Honored One, if any son of good family or daughter of good family holds, keeps, recites, thoroughly understands, and properly attends to this Perfection of Wisdom, World-Honored One, they will not develop eye diseases, nor will they develop ear diseases, nose diseases, tongue diseases, body diseases, or mind diseases. They will not be incomplete in their limbs. Their bodies will not age or become decrepit. That son of good family or daughter of good family will pass away having abandoned discomfort. For the sake of hearing the Dharma, many thousands of sons of gods will also follow after them. The gods of the retinue of the Four Great Kings and the gods up to the retinue of the Pure Abodes will also follow after them. Wherever that son of good family or daughter of good family who speaks the Dharma expounds this Perfection of Wisdom, there, on the eighth, fourteenth, and fifteenth days, a great assembly of gods will gather. That son of good family or daughter of good family, when expounding this Perfection of Wisdom, will greatly increase their merit, and their merit will be immeasurable, countless, unmeasurable, inconceivable, unequaled, and extremely increased. The World-Honored One said: Subhuti, it is so, it is so.

Yes, it is so. A son of good family or a daughter of good family who, on the eighth, fourteenth, and fifteenth days of the month, teaches this Perfection of Wisdom before an assembly of gods, their merit will increase immeasurably, countless, immeasurable, inconceivable, and incomparably. Subhuti, why is that? It is because this Perfection of Wisdom is a great treasure, and this is known as subsequent knowledge of cessation. Subhuti, if this great treasure, the Perfection of Wisdom, is taught to them, they will be completely liberated from hell. They will be completely liberated from the realm of animals. They will be completely liberated from the world of Yama. They will be completely liberated from poverty. They will be born into a great and wealthy family of the royal caste. They will be born into a great and wealthy family of the Brahmin caste. They will be born into a great and wealthy family of the householder caste. They will be born among the gods of the Four Great Kings. They will be born among the gods between the realm of neither perception nor non-perception. This Perfection of Wisdom bestows the fruit of stream-entry. It bestows the fruit of once-returning, the fruit of non-returning, the state of an Arhat, the enlightenment of a solitary Buddha, and even the unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment. It is because from this Perfection of Wisdom, the path of the ten virtuous actions is extensively taught. Therefore, by learning it, there are great and wealthy families of the royal caste. There are great and wealthy families of the Brahmin caste. There are great and wealthy families of the householder caste. There are the gods of the Four Great Kings, the Thirty-three, the No-Conflict, the Joyful, the Enjoying Emanations, and the gods who control the Emanations of Others. There are the gods of the Brahma Assembly. There are the gods who are the ministers of Brahma. There are the gods of Great Brahma. There are the gods of Limited Light. There are the gods of Immeasurable Light. There are the gods of Clear Light. There are the gods of Limited Virtue. There are the gods of Immeasurable Virtue.
