Then, it is said that if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva does not see or perceive all truths in all places, at all times, and in all aspects, how should a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva be instructed and shown the perfection of wisdom? The venerable Subhuti, why is that? It is said, "World Honored One, this Bodhisattva-Mahasattva is only a name." The venerable Subhuti, why is that? It is said, "I, I," but the self is truly unattainable. World Honored One, likewise, Bodhisattva, Bodhisattva, but the Bodhisattva is truly unattainable. Thus, in the nature of all dharmas being without substance, how can form be seen? How can feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness be seen? If it is unattainable, it is not form. If it is unattainable, it is not feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness. The venerable Subhuti, why is that? It is said, "How can the unattainable be instructed and shown the unattainable perfection of wisdom?" The venerable Subhuti, why is that? It is said, "Apart from the unattainable, there is also no Bodhisattva-Mahasattva to be seen." The venerable Subhuti, why is that? It is said, "If when it is shown in this way, the mind of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva does not sink, does not sink extremely, does not generate regret, the mind is not fearful, not terrified, not afraid, then that Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the perfection of wisdom." Having said these words, the venerable Subhuti said to the venerable Sariputra: "Venerable Sariputra, because there are no sentient beings, the Bodhisattva does not observe the past limit. Because sentient beings are empty, sentient beings are isolated, and sentient beings are without self-nature, the Bodhisattva does not observe the past limit. Venerable

Endowed with life, Shariputra, because there are no sentient beings, Bodhisattvas do not fixate on the later limit. Because sentient beings are empty, sentient beings are solitary, and sentient beings are without inherent nature, Bodhisattvas do not fixate on the later limit. Endowed with life, Shariputra, because there are no sentient beings, Bodhisattvas do not fixate on the middle. Because sentient beings are empty, sentient beings are solitary, and sentient beings are without inherent nature, Bodhisattvas do not fixate on the middle. Endowed with life, Shariputra, why is that? Because with respect to the absence of sentient beings, the emptiness of sentient beings, the solitude of sentient beings, and the absence of inherent nature in sentient beings, there is no fixation on the prior limit. There is no fixation on the later limit. There is no fixation on the middle. The absence of sentient beings is also distinct, the emptiness of sentient beings is also distinct, the solitude of sentient beings is also distinct, the absence of inherent nature in sentient beings is also distinct, the Bodhisattva is also distinct, the prior limit is also distinct, the later limit is also distinct, and the middle is also distinct—there is no such thing. Endowed with life, Shariputra, in this way, whatever is the absence of sentient beings, whatever is the emptiness of sentient beings, whatever is the solitude of sentient beings, whatever is the absence of inherent nature in sentient beings, whatever is the Bodhisattva, whatever is the prior limit, whatever is the later limit, and whatever is the middle—all of those are non-dual, and cannot be made dual. Endowed with life, Shariputra, because form is without existence, Bodhisattvas do not fixate on the prior limit. Because feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness are without existence, Bodhisattvas do not fixate on the prior limit. Because form is emptiness, Bodhisattvas do not fixate on the prior limit. Because feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness are emptiness, Bodhisattvas do not fixate on the prior limit. Because form is solitary, Bodhisattvas do not fixate on the prior limit. Because feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness are solitary, Bodhisattvas do not fixate on the prior limit. Because form is without inherent nature, Bodhisattvas do not fixate on the prior limit. Because feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness
