应当完全断除。哪十种呢?即是:居家者和出家者以及依附(他们)应当完全断除;对于眷属产生吝啬之心应当完全断除;喧嚣之处应当完全断除;害人之心应当完全断除;赞叹自己应当完全断除;诋毁他人应当完全断除。不善的十种行为应当完全断除。增上慢和傲慢以及颠倒见等,怀疑和贪欲以及嗔恨和愚痴,对于这些应当轻视,完全断除。这十种法是安住于第五地的菩萨摩诃萨应当完全断除的。 善现,此外,安住于第六地的菩萨摩诃萨应当圆满六种法。哪六种呢?即是:六度。此外,六种法应当完全断除。哪六种呢?声闻之心应当完全断除;缘觉之心应当完全断除;恐惧之心应当完全断除;见到乞丐不应沮丧,应当断除沮丧之心;完全施舍所有事物,不应不悦,应当完全断除不悦之心;见到乞丐,不应被乞丐所扰乱,应当完全断除扰乱之心。 善现,这六种法是安住于第六地的菩萨摩诃萨应当完全断除的。 善现,此外,安住于第七地的菩萨摩诃萨不应作二十种法。哪二十种呢?即是:不应执著于我;不应执著于有情;不应执著于命;不应执著于补特伽罗;不应执著于断灭;不应执著于常恒;不应有相的认识;不应有因的见解;不应执著于名和色;不应执著于蕴;不应执著于界;不应执著于处;不应安住于三界;不应执著于三界;不应依赖于三界;不应执著于依赖于佛的见解;不应执著于依赖于法的见解;

Should be completely abandoned. What are the ten? They are: householders and renunciates and dependence (on them) should be completely abandoned; stinginess towards relatives should be completely abandoned; places of commotion should be completely abandoned; harmful thoughts should be completely abandoned; praising oneself should be completely abandoned; disparaging others should be completely abandoned. The ten paths of non-virtue should be completely abandoned. Excessive pride and arrogance, as well as inverted views, doubt, desire, hatred, and delusion, should be disregarded and completely abandoned. These ten dharmas are to be completely abandoned by a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abiding on the fifth ground. Furthermore, Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abiding on the sixth ground should perfect six dharmas. What are the six? They are: the six perfections. Furthermore, six dharmas should be completely abandoned. What are the six? The mind of a Hearer should be completely abandoned; the mind of a Solitary Realizer should be completely abandoned; the mind of fear should be completely abandoned; upon seeing a beggar, one should not be discouraged, and the mind of discouragement should be completely abandoned; having completely given away all things, one should not be displeased, and the mind of displeasure should be completely abandoned; upon seeing a beggar, one should not be disturbed by the beggar, and the mind of disturbance should be completely abandoned. Subhuti, these six dharmas are to be completely abandoned by a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abiding on the sixth ground. Furthermore, Subhuti, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abiding on the seventh ground should not engage in twenty dharmas. What are the twenty? They are: one should not cling to self; one should not cling to sentient beings; one should not cling to life; one should not cling to a person; one should not cling to annihilation; one should not cling to permanence; one should not have the perception of signs; one should not have the view of a cause; one should not cling to name and form; one should not cling to the aggregates; one should not cling to the elements; one should not cling to the sense bases; one should not abide in the three realms; one should not cling to the three realms; one should not rely on the three realms; one should not cling to the view of relying on the Buddha; one should not cling to the view of relying on the Dharma;

To be attached to views based on the Sangha, to be attached to views based on morality, and to be discouraged by saying that all dharmas are empty, which contradicts emptiness. Subhuti, these twenty dharmas are not to be done by a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abiding in the seventh ground. He should perfect these twenty dharmas. What are the twenty? Namely: perfecting emptiness, realizing the signless, knowing the wishless, purifying the three circles, being compassionate and loving to all sentient beings, not despising those sentient beings, viewing all dharmas as equal and not being attached to that, thoroughly understanding reality and not being arrogant because of it, knowing non-arising, teaching all dharmas in one way, clearly illuminating realization, reversing views, reversing afflictions, firmly focusing on tranquility, being skilled in insight, taming the mind, having unobstructed wisdom, not being a place of attachment, and going to any field one desires, and there abiding in the mandala of the Buddha's retinue, showing one's own entity. Subhuti, these twenty dharmas are to be perfected by a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abiding in the seventh ground. Subhuti, furthermore, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abiding in the eighth ground should perfect these four dharmas. What are the four? Namely: following the minds of all sentient beings, loving them with supernatural powers, observing Buddha-fields and accomplishing those Buddha-fields as they are seen, and attending to and honoring the Buddha and examining the Buddha's body as it truly is. Subhuti, these four dharmas are to be perfected by a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abiding in the eighth ground. Subhuti, furthermore, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva abiding in the eighth ground should perfect four dharmas. What are the four? Namely: knowing superior and non-superior faculties, purifying Buddha-fields, and illusion.
