When practicing the perfection of wisdom, one should thoroughly contemplate this body, from the soles of the feet up to the crown of the head, as being filled with various impurities, including hair, brain, nails, body hair, and skin. This body contains hair, body hair, nails, teeth, skin, thin skin, flesh, water, blood, bones, shanks, heart, kidneys, liver, lungs, spleen, large intestine, small intestine, raw organs, cooked organs, urine, feces, tears, eye mucus, fat, saliva, snot, pus, putrid blood, bile, phlegm, lymph, spittle, dirt, brain, marrow, eye discharge, and earwax. One should thoroughly contemplate this as it is. Subhuti, for example, a farmer's container is filled with various grains such as rice, cereals, sesame, paddy, mung beans, cowpeas, barley, wheat, lentils, and mustard seeds. When opened, a person with eyes looks at them and knows: This is rice, this is cereal, this is sesame, this is paddy, this is mung bean, this is cowpea, this is barley, this is wheat, this is lentil, this is mustard seed. Similarly, Subhuti, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva should also thoroughly contemplate this body, from the soles of the feet up to the crown of the head, as being filled with various impurities, including hair, brain, nails, body hair, and skin. This body contains hair, body hair, nails, teeth, skin, thin skin, flesh, water, blood, bones, shanks, heart, kidneys, liver, lungs, spleen, large intestine, small intestine, raw organs, cooked organs, urine, feces, tears, eye mucus, fat, saliva, snot, pus, putrid blood, bile, phlegm, lymph, spittle, dirt, brain, and marrow, and eye discharge.

Also, regarding the statement that there are earwax and the like, one fully comprehends as it is. Subhuti, thus, a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva, endowed with diligence, endowed with mindfulness, endowed with memory, having completely eliminated attachment and displeasure towards the world, dwells contemplating the body in the inner body, and also in a non-objective manner, does not discriminate regarding the discriminations associated with the body. Subhuti, furthermore, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, if they go to a charnel ground and see various corpses abandoned in the charnel ground and lying on the road, either one day after death, or two days after death, or three days after death, or four days after death, or five days after death, or swollen, or discolored, or festering, or eaten, or scattered, then, this body also has such a nature, has such a self-nature, does not transcend this Dharma-nature. Thus, this body itself is also closely associated with that principle. does not discriminate against discrimination. Furthermore, Subhuti, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices the Perfection of Wisdom, when he sees any corpse abandoned in a charnel ground being eaten, unclean, rotten, and emitting a foul odor, he thinks: 'This body also has such a nature, has such a self-nature, and will not go beyond such a Dharma-nature.'
