One should not truly see emptiness itself as emptiness. One should not truly see the signless emptiness as the emptiness of self-nature. One should not truly see the emptiness of self-nature as the signless emptiness. One should not truly see the emptiness of the nature of non-things as the signless emptiness. Shariputra, this is the faultlessness of a Bodhisattva, a great being, who practices the Perfection of Wisdom, and this is the distinction of the object and aspect of slight warmth in terms of the Truth of Cessation. Furthermore, Shariputra, the venerable one, a Bodhisattva, a great being, should train in this way by practicing the Perfection of Wisdom: When training, one should definitely know form, but one should not be conceited about it. One should know feeling, perception, formations, and consciousness, but one should not be conceited about them. One should know the eye, but one should not be conceited about it. Similarly, One should know the ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind, but one should not be conceited about them. One should know form, but one should not be conceited about it.

Taste, touch, and dharma should be known, but do not become arrogant because of them. The perfection of generosity should be known, but do not become arrogant because of it. The perfection of ethics, the perfection of patience, the perfection of diligence, the perfection of meditation, and the perfection of wisdom should be known, but do not become arrogant because of the perfection of wisdom. Likewise, the five supernormal cognitions, the five eyes, and the close placements of mindfulness should be known, but do not become arrogant because of them. The ninth chapter, the four right abandonments, the feet of miraculous power, the faculties, the powers, the limbs of enlightenment, and the eightfold noble path should be known, but do not become arrogant because of them. The ten powers of the Tathagata, the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical knowledges, and the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha should be known, but do not become arrogant because of them. Shariputra, endowed with life, when a Bodhisattva Mahasattva thus engages in the Perfection of Wisdom, one should know what is called the mind of enlightenment, one should know what is called unequal and equal, one should know what is called the great mind, but do not become arrogant because of them. Why is that? Because in this way, that mind is not mind, because the nature of mind is luminosity. Shariputra said: "Subhuti, endowed with life, what is the luminous nature of mind?" Subhuti said: "Shariputra, endowed with life, the mind that is associated with desire is not, separate is not. Associated with hatred is not, separate is not. Associated with ignorance is not, separate is not. Associated with all arising is not, separate is not. Associated with all objects is not, separate is not. Associated with all latent tendencies is not, separate is not. Associated with all bonds is not, separate is not. Associated with all views is not, separate is not. Associated with the mind of Hearers and Solitary Buddhas is not, separate is not. This is Shariputra, endowed with life, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva.
