And that which is not completely purified, will it learn the Prajñāpāramitā? Will it learn the Dhyāna-pāramitā, the Vīrya-pāramitā, the Kṣānti-pāramitā, the Śīla-pāramitā, and the Dāna-pāramitā? Will it learn the immeasurables, the dhyānas, and the formless attainments? Will it learn the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, the superknowledges, the ten powers, the four fearlessnesses, the separate correct knowledges, and the unshared qualities of the Buddhas? Will it become all-knowing? Will it attain the knowledge of the aspects of the path and the all-aspect knowledge? They replied: Blessed One, that will not be. The Blessed One said: Subhūti, what do you think? Are these five aggregates of grasping cognized, fully cognized, designated, and labeled as "Bodhisattva"? They replied: Blessed One, that is not so. The Blessed One said: Subhūti, what do you think? Do these five aggregates of grasping arise, cease, become completely defiled, or become completely purified merely through cognition, full cognition, designation, and labeling? They replied: Blessed One, that will not be. The Blessed One said: Subhūti, what do you think? For that which has no cognition, no full cognition, no designation, no labeling, no name, no designation of name, no body, no action of body, no purity, no action of speech, no mind, no action of mind, no birth, no cessation, no complete defilement, and no complete purification, will it learn the Prajñāpāramitā and become all-aspect knowledge? Will it attain all-aspect knowledge? They replied: Blessed One, that will not be. The Blessed One said: Subhūti, therefore, the Bodhisattva Mahāsattva should learn the Prajñāpāramitā in this way.

I. In the manner of non-apprehension, one will definitely attain all-knowingness. The questioner said: Blessed One, if that is so, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva who studies the Perfection of Wisdom should train in unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment as if taught by a magical person. Why is that? Blessed One, this should be recognized as a magical person, namely, these five aggregates of appropriation. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, what do you think? Will these five aggregates be trained in the Perfection of Wisdom and attain all-knowingness? The questioner said: Blessed One, that will not happen. Why is that? Blessed One, in this way, these five aggregates of appropriation are of the nature of non-things. Likewise, the five aggregates are like a dream. A dream is also of the nature of non-existence, without an object of focus. Likewise, the five aggregates are without an object of focus because of their nature of non-existence. The Blessed One said: Subhuti, what do you think? Will the five aggregates, like an echo, like a mirage, like an illusion, like a reflection, be trained in the Perfection of Wisdom and attain all-knowingness? The questioner said: Blessed One, that will not happen. Why is that? Blessed One, in this way, a dream is of the nature of non-existence, an echo is of the nature of non-existence. Likewise, a mirage, an illusion, a reflection are of the nature of non-existence, without an object of focus. Likewise, the five aggregates are without an object of focus because of their nature of non-existence. Blessed One, in this way, form is like an illusion. Feeling is like an illusion. Perception is like an illusion. The formations are like an illusion. Consciousness is like an illusion. Whatever is consciousness is also the six faculties and the five aggregates. They are also not apprehended by the emptiness of the interior. They are not apprehended by the emptiness of the exterior, and so on, to non-things.

whose very nature is not perceived by emptiness. O Blessed One, if it is said thus, which Bodhisattva-Mahasattva does not despair, does not utterly despair, does not regret, does not fear, does not utterly fear, does not become possessed by utter fear? O Blessed One, that one will certainly proceed to omniscience, will certainly proceed to the knowledge of the path, and it should be known that he will subsequently attain all-aspect knowledge. This is called the ninth non-learning path-established discrimination, the second grasping discrimination. Complete grasping, the first. Completely grasped by skillful means. Then, the venerable Subhuti said this to the Blessed One: "O Blessed One, will a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who has newly entered the Great Vehicle, upon hearing this teaching, despair, utterly despair, and regret, and will he fear, utterly fear, and be possessed by utter fear?" The Blessed One replied: "Sariputra, if a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who has newly entered the Great Vehicle, when practicing in the Perfection of Wisdom, is unskilled in means and has not come into the hands of a virtuous friend, then he will fear, utterly fear, and be possessed by fear." Subhuti asked: "O Blessed One, by practicing what does a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva who practices in the Perfection of Wisdom not fear, not utterly fear, and not be possessed by utter fear? What is that skillful means of the Bodhisattva-Mahasattva?" The Blessed One replied: "Subhuti, here, when a Bodhisattva-Mahasattva practices in the Perfection of Wisdom, with a mind endowed with all-aspect knowledge, he individually discriminates that form is impermanent, but it is not perceived. With a mind endowed with all-aspect knowledge, he individually discriminates that feeling is impermanent, but it is not perceived. With a mind endowed with all-aspect knowledge, he individually discriminates that perception is impermanent, but it is not perceived. With a mind endowed with all-aspect knowledge, he individually discriminates that formations are impermanent, but it is not perceived. With all-aspect knowledge,
