That is, it is obtained by the complete fulfillment of the aspiration endowed with the perfection of discipline. What is the reason for that? Because the physical actions and verbal actions of sentient beings are without fault, it is for the sake of the application of manifest desire. To have power over birth is to be obtained by the very fact of being properly included by the birth of the realm of manifest desire. What is the reason for that? Because the aspiration endowed with discipline is accomplished. To have power over faith is to be properly included by following whatever faith one has in things like earth turning into gold, etc., and is obtained by the complete fulfillment of the perfection of patience. What is the reason for that? Because in previous lives, one followed the faith of sentient beings with patience. To have power over aspiration is to be properly included by accomplishing it as one wishes, and is obtained by the complete fulfillment of the perfection of diligence. What is the reason for that? Because in the past, he practiced the diligence of all sentient beings without laziness. To be properly included by the five superknowledges is obtained by the complete fulfillment of the perfection of meditation. In the past, it was because one entered into meditation in accordance with the needs of sentient beings. To have power over wisdom is to be properly included by manifesting wisdom as one wishes, and is obtained by the complete fulfillment of the perfection of wisdom. In the past, it was because sentient beings practiced the Dharma, such as the Sutras, as they wished. The ten powers are as follows: the power of knowing what is and is not the case, the power of knowing actions and their ripening, the power of knowing meditation, concentration, and absorption, the power of knowing superior and inferior faculties, the power of knowing various aspirations, the power of knowing various realms, the power of knowing the path that goes everywhere, the power of knowing death and birth, the power of knowing the recollection of past lives, and the power of knowing the exhaustion of defilements. The meaning of these can be seen extensively in the Sutra of the King of Dharani Empowerment. Fearless

The four kinds of fearlessness are: Alas! I have vowed to attain perfect and complete enlightenment, therefore, with this Dharma called the manifestation of perfect enlightenment, no one can refute me with the Dharma, because I do not truly see any reason, so I have obtained happiness, freedom from anxiety, and fearlessness, this is the first. Similarly, alas! I have vowed that all my defilements have been exhausted, therefore, no one can say to me here that these defilements have not been exhausted, because I have not truly seen any reason, just like before, this is the second. Furthermore, when I show the path of liberation to the hearers, it stops suffering and completely exhausts suffering, therefore it is not liberation. No one will refute this vow by saying that it is not the end of suffering, just like before, this is the third. Furthermore, when I show the hearers the Dharma that is an obstacle, no one can refute me by saying that it stops the obstacle, but it is not an obstacle, just like before. This is the fourth fearlessness. The three kinds of non-protection are as follows: The Tathagata has completely pure bodily conduct, and the Tathagata does not have completely impure bodily conduct, therefore, the Tathagata does not violate any promise that has been made, this is the first non-protection. Just as the activity of the body is, so should the activity of speech and mind be spoken. The three kinds of mindfulness are as follows: When the Tathagata teaches the Dharma, some people listen attentively and respectfully, and settle the mind of listening to the teachings on this, diligently practicing the Dharma and its meaning, but the Tathagata will not be pleased by this, will not feel happy, and the mind will not be shaken. Others listen attentively and respectfully, but on the contrary, the Tathagata broadly speaks of the opposite principle, and the Tathagata will not be angry, will not be impatient, and the mind will not be displeased. Still others listen respectfully with one mind.
