Explanation of the Aspect of the Dharmakaya Explanation of the Aspect of the Dharmakaya Now, the Dharmakaya should be spoken of, and it should be known as the three bodies, namely the Dharmakaya, the Sambhogakaya, and the Nirmanakaya. Wherefore, being empowered in the Dharmakaya, the Dharmakaya of the Sage is that which is completely pure and transformed into all kinds of flawless dharmas; those are its nature. As it is taught, all flawless dharmas are the true nature of the completely pure Dharmadhatu in all aspects. This, whatever is the Dharmata, is known as the Dharmakaya of the Bhagavan because of its non-artificial meaning. The term 'Dharmata' is known in the world as non-artificial. The transcendental path is not the one that attains it. Furthermore, what is the completely pure Dharmata in all aspects? What are the flawless dharmas of the Dharmakaya? The factors of enlightenment, the immeasurables, liberation and gradual attainment, the nature of the nine meditative absorptions, the nature of the ten exhaustive cognitions, the spheres of dominance, the eightfold divisions, the absence of afflictions and aspirations, the individual correct knowledge of manifest knowledge, the four purities in all aspects, the ten powers and the ten strengths, the four fearlessnesses, the three unguardednesses, the three mindfulnesses, the nature of non-forgetfulness, the complete destruction of habitual tendencies, great compassion for beings, the eighteen unshared dharmas of the Sage alone, and whatever is explained as the all-knowingness in all aspects, are called the Dharmakaya. In this teaching, by removing self-grasping, the Dharmakaya is called the Dharmakaya. Otherwise, if the Dharmakaya is said to be the Dharmakaya, then the Dharmata would be prevented, and there would also be the fault of becoming a conditioned phenomenon in the sense of accumulating the body. Therefore, it should be known that what is called the body is a designation that follows the previous state. Among these, the explanation of the factors of enlightenment, the mindfulnesses, etc., is in the context of the extensive collection of paths, as it is said.

The abandonment should be known as such. Immeasurable is love and so forth, as explained in entering the immeasurable. The eight liberations are: one who has form contemplates forms, this is the first. Internally having the perception of form, one contemplates external forms, this is the second. The liberation of beauty, having realized it with the body, dwells completely, this is the third. The infinity of space, and the infinity of consciousness, the nothingness, and the realm of neither perception nor non-perception, these are called the four liberations, and the cessation of perception and feeling, which is called one. Thus, there are eight. Among them, because of exhaustion, complete exhaustion, and pervasiveness, this is without limit. Because of the infinity of space, the infinity of space, this is with space as its object. Because of the meaning of relying on contemplation on that infinity of space, it is a place of birth, and because it is similar to the dwelling place of the gods, it is the birthplace of the infinity of space. The infinity of consciousness itself is the birthplace of the infinity of consciousness. Because of its complete exhaustion and pervasiveness, this is infinite, therefore infinite consciousness. From the name, consciousness enters into space, as before. Because this consciousness is infinite, it is the birthplace of infinite consciousness. In this, even a small part is not left, therefore it is the nothingness, the birthplace of infinite consciousness, and that name is given to what is separate from consciousness. Because this contemplation also relies on nothingness, it is called the birthplace of nothingness, and so forth, as before. The broad perception is not present, but the subtle one is, therefore it is neither perception nor non-perception, and the contemplation that corresponds to it is neither perception nor non-perception. Neither perception nor non-perception is also, and that is also the birthplace that belongs to the birthplace of dharma, therefore it is called the birthplace of neither perception nor non-perception. All of these are attained by truly transcending from the object, not by transcending the limbs. For example, the first dhyana and so forth, and the exhaustion of the earth and so forth, in the limbs of realizing without abandoning the object on one object, and so forth.
