If, due to the power of homogeneous causes, all these become the realm (of everything), then, as the Blessed One said, according to my understanding of the meaning, in the manner that all phenomena are manifestly enlightened in every way, all the Tathagata's phenomena are inexpressible, this has been shown. If asked: How is it inexpressible? The answer is: It has been shown that their emptiness is inexpressible. For an inexpressible thing, there can be no decrease or increase. By the path called meditation, what decreases and what is gained? As it is said, the nine kinds of great species of discrimination, etc., what decreases, this has been shown. As it is said, the nine kinds of small paths, etc., the question of what is gained is that, for the inexpressible meaning, the increase and complete decrease are prevented, therefore, the increase and complete decrease from the Paramitas, etc., up to the eighteen unshared Buddha Dharmas are prevented, therefore, the opportunity to obtain perfect enlightenment with all-knowing wisdom does not exist, this has been shown. The answer to this is: How is Bodhi, so is its desire, accomplishing the meaning. This has been shown, this is the term called the path of meditation. Because the pride of realizing everything is prevented, just as the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, with complete dedication by attention, etc., that will become a vessel, this has been shown. If asked: What is Bodhi like? Bodhi is suchness, that is its nature, that is also its nature. This is saying that whatever is suchness from form to Nirvana, that is the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, therefore, the combination of the increase and complete decrease of such Prajnaparamita being prevented is permissible, this has been shown. Thus, cause and effect, or effect and cause, one passes on to the other by nature, therefore, the relationship between cause and effect becomes an undeluded appearance, this is what is said. Again, after doing so, the mind is enlightened by the former.

Not even of other castes. The meaning of "not even of other castes" is that the initial generation of bodhicitta and the subsequent generation do not meet each other. Therefore, it cannot be transformed into a collection of virtuous roots that are perfectly accomplished in three countless eons, so how can any sentient being attain unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment? This was taught in response to a question. Now, how will enlightenment arise? The phrase "by the example of a lamp known in the world" is to understand that both the generation of bodhicitta by the example of the essence are with their fruits. By training in the ten bhumis, bodhicitta will become its object, thereby attaining unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment. Know that this shows that the initial and subsequent bodhicittas, without relying on meditation, do not realize manifest enlightenment. What should be known here? The phrase "the eight aspects of profound dharma nature" should be connected with "should be followed" in this context of teaching. How are they eight aspects? There are eight profound aspects. What are they? They are: birth and cessation, suchness and knowable, knowledge and conduct and non-duality, and skillful means are profound. This is what is taught by these. Among them, the profundity of birth is not those, nor is it from others other than those, therefore, manifest perfect enlightenment is that the arising of the mind that has ceased is cessation itself by the profundity of dependent arising. This is what is to be taught. As it is said in the sutra: Subhuti, what do you think? Will the mind that has ceased arise again later? Bhagavan, it will not. This is what the Buddha said. The profundity of cessation is because whatever mind has arisen is the nature of cessation. Therefore, the dharma that is spoken of, cessation is the cessation itself, this is what is to be taught. As it is said in the sutra: Subhuti, what do you think? Is whatever has arisen of the nature of cessation? Bhagavan, it is of the nature of cessation. Subhuti, what do you think? Will whatever is of the nature of cessation cease again? He replied: Bhagavan, it will not. This is what the Buddha said. What is the meaning? Because at the very moment of arising, it manifestly tends towards cessation. What else?
