Therefore, starting from the first question, in order to negate what is to be obtained, because there are no sentient beings, and emptiness, tranquility, absence of self-nature, and the past, future, and middle edges, the bodhisattva's promised attainment is negated, in order to understand that there is no meaning of what is to be obtained in the three times. Similarly, because there are none from the aggregates and so on, to the perfections, and the limbs of enlightenment, up to the eighteen unshared qualities of the Buddha; and emptiness, tranquility, and absence of self-nature, the bodhisattva's promised attainment in the past edges and so on is negated. Why is that? Because in non-existence and so on, since the past edges and so on are not observed, therefore in non-existence and so on, the perfections and so on are spoken of by other names. As it is said in the sutra: Emptiness is not other, the perfection of giving is not other, and so on. Similarly, it should also be said for samadhi, and the doors of form, and the realm of dharma, and suchness, and the true edges and so on. The noble individuals such as the hearers, with non-existence and so on, negate the bodhisattva's promised attainment in the past edges and so on. Why is that? Because from non-existence onwards, up to the Buddha, all of these are non-dual, they are indivisible, this is what is to be expressed. In order to negate the obtainer, starting from "form is infinite," from form and so on, aggregates and so on, up to the unshared qualities of the Buddha, the past edges and so on are unobservable. Why is that? Because due to emptiness, there is no so-called form bodhisattva, it is unobservable. Why is that? Because from form and so on, aggregates and so on, up to the Tathagata, they are emptiness. The great bodhisattva does not observe in all places, all, all ways of all, starting from "form and so on."
