Nor is it possessed of form. It is without color, invisible, and unobstructed. Thus, by realizing that it is without characteristics, it becomes the single characteristic. Through such realization, phenomena are unborn. When phenomena are regarded as names that are not different from one another, seeing the unborn for the sake of complete purification from all phenomena up to Buddhahood is considered to be close to the Perfection of Wisdom. In that case, Bodhisattvas and the five types of beings will also become undifferentiated. Since there is no practice of entering the stream and so forth, and the path to attaining enlightenment, the practice of austerity is also unreasonable. Similarly, the Tathagata's complete and perfect enlightenment in unsurpassed, perfect Buddhahood, and the turning of the wheel of Dharma will also become impossible. Subhuti said: Venerable Shariputra, I do not think that there is attainment or comprehension in the unborn Dharma. I do not think that there is a stream-enterer in the unborn. I do not think that there is the fruit of stream-entry, starting from this, it shows that it is not appropriate to accept all Dharmas. And, when asked whether there is attainment or will be attainment of the born or unborn for those born and unborn dharmas, the answer is that neither is considered to be real. Therefore, for the unborn and born dharmas, the question of attainment is to prevent clinging to both as real. When asked whether there is something to be attained and realized, the answer is that both are spoken of in terms of the two truths, just as realization is spoken of, it is also said that both exist in conventional truth. Therefore, since the birth of the unborn is prevented, I also have no courage to proclaim the birth of the unborn. Why? Because whatever is unborn, courage, and proclamation is without characteristics, and therefore does not possess the realization of birth. Why? Because all dharmas are unborn. Among them, courage is the word of proclamation. Proclamation, because it is what is to be proclaimed, is proclamation, that is, meaning. Just as attainment and realization exist in conventional truth, the distinction of the five paths is similar to this.

Why is that? Because, in terms of ultimate truth, it is indeed free from the characteristics of karma, maturation, birth, cessation, complete affliction, and complete purification. If asked: Will an unborn dharma be born? Or will a born dharma be born? Both of these births are negated. The so-called "existent" refers to that "existent." If asked: What does it mean to not wish for an unborn dharma to be born? Starting from form, up to all dharmas, the unborn also does not arise, and saying "unborn dharma" can answer all questions without obstruction, therefore, the venerable Subhuti is the most excellent among those who teach the Dharma, because he does not abide in all dharmas, so he is excellent, because he is suitable to expound the Prajnaparamita, so it should be known that he is independent. From the aggregates such as form to all dharmas, because of holding onto the emptiness of self-nature and not abiding in the internal etc., it should be known that he is independent in abiding in the teaching of non-apprehension. This sutra says that the venerable Shariputra, form is empty of the nature of form, therefore it does not abide in the internal, nor does it abide in the external, and so on. In terms of the definite arising of the path, the venerable Shariputra, there is also worldly giving and transcendent giving. When teaching the path to attain all-knowingness, because of clinging to the object of giving, the giver, and the receiver, one does not waver from the world, is not superior, and does not transcend, therefore it is called worldly giving paramita. Dedicating the giving that is purified by the three circles to perfect and complete enlightenment, in this way, one wavers, is superior, and transcends from the world, therefore it is called transcendent giving paramita. Similarly, one should also speak of the Prajnaparamita. Because one has attained the certainty of the transcendent path, one wavers from the world. Because one closely represents its means, one is superior. Because one has completely abandoned its obstructing dharmas, one transcends. Or, wavering

is the time of generating the mind of enlightenment. The noble one is the time of the decisive aspect. Transcendence is the time of knowing the Dharma in suffering, which is another name. In this, the reversal is unwavering. It should be known as non-noble and non-transcendence. Whoever manifestly establishes the world, or whoever is equal to the world, or whoever gives for the sake of the world, or whoever does not arise in the world, or whoever exists in the world, or whoever causes birth in the world, that is the perfection of the worldly. Whoever transcends the world, or whoever liberates the world, or whoever surpasses the world, or whoever does not exist in the world, or whoever definitely departs from the world, or whoever is for the sake of delivering worldly beings, or whoever is the supreme of the world, that is called the perfection beyond the world. The thirty-seven factors of enlightenment are the path of enlightenment, and because it is the cause of realization for all noble beings such as the past, and because the Prajnaparamita is the cause of birth, and because it should be known as the definite departure of the transcendental path of the noble ones, and because of the non-separation from the mind that is not afraid of being timid, etc., thus, the true words that are widely arranged are spoken by them. Why is that? Because there is no sentient being, because there is no self-nature, because of emptiness, because of tranquility, because of not manifestly attaining complete enlightenment, it should be known that the mind is not manifestly attaining complete enlightenment. Likewise, from all phenomena such as form to all-knowingness, likewise, it should be said that the Bodhisattva's mind is inseparable. Thus, it should be known that these eight definite departures are the practice of definite departure. These practices of armor, etc., are also the right way of reasoning, which is to divide the armor and enter, and those who enter are the assembly of the army, etc.
