Oh! Dogs and foxes, etc., each devour each other in various ways, and this is thorough devouring. It shows the decay of the flesh, so it is the antidote to those who are attached to the flesh such as breasts. The hand is elsewhere, the head is elsewhere, and the foot is also elsewhere, scattered in various ways, which shows the scattering of limbs and subtle limbs, so it is the antidote to those who are attached to the charm of limbs and subtle limbs. The bone itself is a bone pile, the accumulation of bones is regarded as a whole, which shows the different substances of the body's bones, so it is the antidote to those who are attached to the wealth of bones such as teeth. Completely rotten, that is thorough rot. It shows the shrinkage that does not conform to the shape of the skin, so it is the antidote to those who are greedy for color and shape, and one should meditate in this way. This body is also like a dead corpse, just like the initial words. Others think there are ten impure contemplations, except for the contemplation of decay, there is also the contemplation of bones being cut off and scattered, in order to counteract the attachment to the gathered body, cutting the body with knives, etc., showing the changes in which the body becomes different. The worm's contemplation of being gnawed by worms is also to counteract the attachment to the self in the body, showing the nature of the body being covered by various kinds of worms. Among them, the first is the contemplation of scattering. The second is also not an antidote, because it is the same as the antidote to attachment to self and regarding the broken aggregation as the body. The contemplation of decay is the antidote to attachment to color and shape, so this should undoubtedly be included in the count. Therefore, the nine impure contemplations are the best. The so-called eight realizations of a great man are as stated in the sutra. How does the sutra say it? "This is the Dharma of those with few desires, not of those with many desires; it is the Dharma of those who are content, extremely tranquil, diligent, mindful, meditative, and endowed with wisdom,

These are not (views) of those with perverse wisdom. The venerable Maudgalyayana's son abides with these seven thoughts of a great person. The Blessed One also said, 'Maudgalyayana's son, you should understand these eight thoughts of a great person in this way.' This is in accordance with the Dharma without elaboration, and the conduct of a pleasure garden without dependence on a pleasure garden without elaboration." Thus it was said. Among them, four things are abandoned due to having few desires, namely: hypocrisy, flattery, importuning, and measuring by gain. Among them, what is called hypocrisy is as it is in the Sutra, here, someone desires gain, desiring gain, respect, and reverence, bound by attachment with dependence, becoming an aranya dweller, or practicing wearing rag robes, or sitting in one seat, he dwells relying closely on any of the qualities he has cultivated, he thinks to himself, 'How wonderful it would be if others would attend to me, respect me, make offerings to me, remember me! I should also accomplish gain, respect, and reverence.' He thinks like this, striving for gain and respect, praising the qualities of gain and so on, such an attitude of conduct is called hypocrisy. What is called flattery is that here, someone with dependence on gain and respect says to others like this: 'You are like my mother, like my father, like my brother, like any relative, like a blood relative. Because you are like that, my giving and so on is also for your sake. I come to you from a distant place for your sake, and staying here is also for your sake.' Even if he says this, but most of those people do not respect him, he strives for gain, desiring gain and so on, bound by attachment with dependence, he speaks flatteringly to others in that way, and by speaking completely, he performs the work of flattery related to the fruit of the desired meaning, this is called flattery. What is called importuning is that here, for the sake of gain, he does not clearly...
