One should observe and compare following the Sutra Pitaka and others. I have not listed them in detail because there are many scriptures, and for the sake of abandoning them all. What is called "Bodhicitta" (enlightenment mind)? "Citta" (mind) is consciousness and wisdom. What is called "consciousness"? It is the consciousness of the mind, because it is from this that the object of all white dharmas arises. The meaning of saying "arising" should be understood as generating what has not yet arisen. What is called "mind" should be understood as it is the initial beginning of the dharma of realization. Although this is so, what is the connection between those of the nine impure perceptions, and the eight great men's distinctions previously taught, and the various distinctions of Bodhicitta? It is for the purpose of understanding the nature of Bodhicitta that never diminishes. There are eight reasons why Bodhicitta never diminishes: the antidote to attachment is the impure perception. The antidote to wrong livelihood is having few desires and being content. The antidote to true joy and the view of decline is solitude. The antidote to laziness is initiating diligence. The antidote to loss of mindfulness is abiding in mindfulness. The antidote to distraction is samadhi. The antidote to wrong wisdom is wisdom. The antidote to delighting in the various manifestations of the world is the joy garden without elaboration. From the explanation of Bodhicitta in the Prajnaparamita Upadesha Shastra, Ornament for Clear Realization. The explanation of Bodhicitta is finished. Explanation of Bodhicitta.
