Therefore, it is said that emptiness is the illusory nature of phenomena. For the smallest of small discriminations, since it is understood with number, measurability, and limit, in terms of the path of cultivation, how does a ninth-ground Bodhisattva transform this antidote into a great antidote? As it is said: abiding in emptiness, the Prajñāpāramitā, which is encompassed by nine kinds of paths of cultivation, is combined with merit that is encompassed by countless, immeasurable, and unlimited, and thus the meaning of perfecting the three similes is achieved. What is the difference between countless and so on? What is the distinction? This is a question posed to clearly indicate their respective characteristics. The characteristics of the realms of samsara, which are numbered and numberless, and of nirvana, are understood to be the same through recognizing that they are neither numbered nor numberless, and therefore they are numberless. Since no limit is set on times, it is understood to be unconditioned by recognizing that it is limitless, and therefore it is limitless. Since it cannot be measured, it is understood to be able to master the realm of omniscience through limitlessness, and therefore it is limitless. Considering the characteristic of the nature of the characteristics of countless things and so on, since all phenomena are empty, they are countless, immeasurable, and unlimited. If so, then the countless and so on that are spoken of are not spoken for the sake of the ultimate truth. The characteristic of emptiness, the ultimate truth, even through different expressions, will not be different, this is the idea here. In the conventional truth, the Buddhas accept those compassionate co-causes. As it is said: since there is no distinguishing between letters and meanings, it is unspeakable and uncountable, up to nirvana. This indicates the compassionate co-causes of the Tathagata. If so

If it is said that this is to show the common cause of the Tathagata's compassion, then must these all become the objects of everything? The answer is: As I understand it, these meanings spoken by the Blessed One are to show the common cause of the Tathagata's compassion, the Tathagata, by way of completely awakening to all dharmas, said that all dharmas are unspeakable. How so? Because the emptiness of those is said to be unspeakable. For an unspeakable thing, decrease and increase are impossible. By the path called meditation, what decreases and what is attained? Just as it is said, from the great of great discriminations, etc., the nine aspects, what decreases, and just as it is said, the small of small, etc., the nine aspects of the path, what is attained, this is effort. Because for the unspeakable seed, decrease and increase have been prevented, from the perfections to the unshared qualities of the Buddha, by preventing decrease and increase, it is said that there will be no opportunity to truly awaken to omniscience. The answer to this is: Just as enlightenment is, so is this, this accomplishes the desired meaning. This is a synonym for the path of meditation. Just as for all the dharmas that are realized, holding onto increase is prevented, just like unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment, mindfulness, etc., are completely dedicated, it is said that this itself has opportunity. What is enlightenment like? Enlightenment is suchness itself, that is also its nature. It is said that, because the suchness from the suchness of form to nirvana is unsurpassed, perfect enlightenment, therefore, in this way, practicing in the Prajnaparamita, preventing decrease and increase, is completely what is spoken by permission. In this way, because cause and effect, or effect and cause, mutually follow nature, therefore the relationship of cause and effect

It is said that it is not inverted. Even if it is done that way, the mind is neither the previous enlightenment, nor the later different kind. As it is said, since the initial and final bodhicittas do not meet each other, and the roots of virtue that have been truly accomplished in countless three great kalpas have not been accumulated, then what kind of bodhicitta will become enlightened to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment? This was said after being asked. Now, how will it arise? It is known in the world, in the manner of the lamp analogy. It means that, like the analogy of the wick of a lamp burning out, knowing that both bodhicittas bear fruit, therefore bodhicitta becomes its object, and by studying the ten bhumis, knowing the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, this itself is neither the initial bodhicitta nor the later one. It is also not possible to manifest perfect enlightenment without relying on them, this is what is said. How can this be fully understood? The profound dharma nature is completely continuous. This is what is said, and it should be combined with following the context of this time. How are there eight kinds? There are eight kinds of profound. What are the eight? Arising and ceasing, as well as suchness and knowable, knowledge and conduct and non-duality, and skillful means are profound. This is what is said. Among them, the profoundness of arising is because, they are not, and without relying on them, one cannot manifest perfect enlightenment, therefore dependent origination is profound. The profoundness of cessation refers to what is spoken by blocking the arising of the mind, as it is said, Subhuti, what do you think? Will the mind that has ceased arise again? World-Honored One, it will not. The profoundness of cessation refers to the fact that the arising of the mind is the nature of cessation, therefore, for those who possess that nature, cessation is blocked and spoken. As it is said, Subhuti, what do you think? Is the arising mind the nature of cessation? World-Honored One, it is the nature of cessation. What do you think? Will that which has the nature of cessation cease? World-Honored One, it will not. This is what is said. What does it mean?
