Explanation of the Sangha of Non-Returning Bodhisattvas. Explanation of the Sangha of Non-Returning Bodhisattvas. If this is the Sangha of Hearers or the Sangha of Bodhisattvas, it should be stated which one it is. Among them, the Sangha of Hearers is merely knowing that it is divided into the four pairs of eight types of persons by the difference between the fruit of the path and the path of the fruit. The Sangha of Bodhisattvas should be explained, which is divided into three stages: the stage of the path of application, which is included with the part that corresponds to the decisive division; the stage of the path of seeing, which is included with patience and knowledge; and the stage of the path of cultivation, which has continuity. Why is that? Starting from the decisive division, they are the paths of seeing and familiarity. Which Bodhisattvas abide in this? They are the assembly of non-return here. It is said that this is the definition of the word "Sangha." Because its difference from Hearers and others should be explained. Liberation from form and so on are signs. It is declared that all phenomena are without inherent nature. Abiding in the decisive division is the mind of non-return. It is said. Among them, liberation from form and so on is: Subhuti, all dharmas are without characteristics, without signs, without names, it should be understood in this way. And, because the connection of the knower is prevented, the one who turns back from the Dharani to the perfectly complete Bodhi, this is the turning back of the Bodhisattva. Why is that? Because of attachment to form, it is declared with no self-nature. Among them, the aspect is included with the side of the antidote. The sign is included with the name that relies on itself. The name is understood as the cause of fully enjoying it. And, because there is no doubt, one does not prostrate to other gods and does not offer flowers and so on. And, one does not hold the eight non-freedoms and the things of women. Among them, the eight non-freedoms are these: wrong view, hell, animals, the world of Yama, not hearing the teachings of the Buddha, being born in a border area, the senses being dull and defective, and being born in a long-life god. It is truly real.

Abiding in the path of the ten virtuous actions, also encouraging others to abide in them, praising the ten virtuous actions, rejoicing in accordance with them, not fixating on all sentient beings and cultivating the six perfections, fulfilling the wishes of all sentient beings by giving sutras and so on, dedicating to the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment, and because all dharmas are unseen, there is no doubt, no hesitation, and no uncertainty about the profound dharma. If one desires another path, doubt arises because it is not complete. Disagreement with the straight path is hesitation. Because there is no hope of increasing the various pure lineage dharmas, doubt arises because they cannot be restored. Possessing loving bodily, verbal, and mental actions, and not dwelling together with the five obscurations. The five obscurations are desire for sensual pleasures, malice, dullness, sleep, excitement, regret, and doubt. The complete absence of all latent tendencies is the latent tendency that is included in ignorance and the outflows of views. Bodhisattvas, because they consciously take rebirth, are not included in the outflows of desire and existence. Maintaining mindfulness of actions such as going or coming, possessing pure conduct, nourishing the body with little food, and despising enjoyment is said to be the stage of approaching warmth. The root of virtue is far superior to all the worlds, therefore there are no eighty thousand kinds of worms in the body. The root of purity is completely pure, the mind is free from falsehood, surpassing the realms of the Hearers and so on, and from higher to higher, it becomes the cause of holding the complete purity of body and mind. Not craving gain and respect, and practicing the twelve dhuta qualities. The twelve dhuta qualities are: wearing robes made of discarded rags, wearing felt robes, begging for food, eating only one meal a day, not accepting extra food, living in a quiet place, living under a tree, and having no shelter.
