Thus, from the statement "eye and form and eye consciousness are not objects of focus," to the statement "mind and dharma and mind consciousness are not objects of focus," because the meaning of the realms is the opposing side of them. The conceptualization of the self as the basis of all afflictions is what is stated in the words, "Shariputra, dependent arising is not an object of focus," up to "the formless realm is not an object of focus." The meaning of dependent arising is the opponent of that. The conceptualization of the self as the basis of detachment is what is stated in the words, "the first dhyana is not an object of focus," up to "the formless attainments are not objects of focus." The meaning of detachment, which is to truly transcend attachment by focusing on the limbs of the dhyanas and the formless realms, is the opponent of that. The conceptualization of the self as the basis of seeing is what is stated in the words, "the noble truths are not objects of focus," because the meaning of seeing the truth is the opponent of that. The conceptualization of the self as the basis of meditation is what is stated in the words, "the eight liberations and the nine progressive abidings are not objects of focus," because the meaning of meditation, which is to directly experience the body's ground, is the opponent of that. The conceptualization of the self as the basis of having accomplished the meaning is what is stated from the words, "the ten powers are not objects of focus," up to "omniscience is not an object of focus." How is it not an object of focus? In its very nature. Why is that? Because its nature is utterly pure. Thus, what is said should be stated in all cases. The first conceptualization, which is to cling to the existence of a person as a substance, has been explained. The second conceptualization, which is to cling to the basis of what is designated as a person, is to be stated, and for that reason, it is to be stated briefly. "Bhagavan, if someone were to ask, 'Will a magical person train in the Perfection of Wisdom and attain omniscience? Will they obtain omniscience?'" This is what is stated up to the point of such questions. That becomes nine kinds of transformations.

The conceptualization of the aggregates as imputations is: Subhuti, what do you think? Is form also different from illusion, and also illusion? Up to and including, is consciousness also different from illusion, and also different from others? He replied: Bhagavan, it is not so. What is said in between is that form and so on, because of their lack of inherent existence, there is no need to abandon them. The conceptualization of the sense bases as imputations is: Subhuti, what do you think? Is the eye also different from illusion, and also different from others? Up to and including, is the mind also different from illusion, and also different from others? He replied: Bhagavan, it is not so. What is said in between is that the eye and so on, because of their lack of inherent existence, there is no function of the door of birth. The conceptualization of the elements as imputations is: Subhuti, what do you think? Are the eye and form and eye-consciousness also different from illusion, and also different from others? What is said and so on is that these, because of their lack of inherent existence, have no function of lineage. The conceptualization of dependent origination as an imputation is: Subhuti, what do you think? Is dependent origination also different from illusion, and also different from others? What is said and so on is that ignorance and so on, which are emptiness of inherent nature, have no function of arising for each cause and collection. The conceptualization of purification as an imputation is: Subhuti, what do you think? Are the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment also different from illusion, and also different from others? What is said and so on is that these are like rafts and are not permanent. The conceptualization of the path of seeing as an imputation is: Subhuti, what do you think? Are emptiness and signlessness and wishlessness also different from illusion, and also different from others? What is said is that these are merely the aggregation of discordant and concordant factors, and because of their lack of inherent existence, they are not completely established. The conceptualization of the path of meditation as an imputation is: Subhuti, what do you think? Absorption and the formless
