The difference is because the Four Noble Truths all have impermanence, etc., as their objects. The difference in aspect is because it has aspects such as not clinging to any manifestation of the truth of suffering and the truth of origin. The sutra of this is: Shariputra, the form of the great Bodhisattva is impermanent, form is suffering, form is emptiness, form is selflessness, and again form is emptiness, form is without aspiration, and the manifestation of clinging, especially abiding, and complete knowledge, this is Shariputra, the great Bodhisattva's attachment to the agreeable Dharma, which has become a fault, etc. This is temporarily the difference between the object and the aspect belonging to the truth of suffering. The difference between the object and the aspect belonging to the truth of origin is: Similarly, this form should be abandoned, and thus the manifestation of clinging to the statement that form should be abandoned, etc. Therefore, for the truth of suffering and the truth of origin, impermanence, etc., are taken as objects, and there is no manifestation of clinging, etc., as aspects. What is to be said? The Hearers take phenomena with characteristics such as form as their objects, and transform them into impermanence, etc., because they are the antidote to the view of self. Bodhisattvas take phenomena with characteristics such as impermanence as their objects, and transform them into aspects such as not clinging to their manifestations, because they are the antidote to the view of phenomena. The absence of characteristics is not mentioned here because it is intended to speak of the two truths from the perspective of entering. The characteristic of the Great Vehicle of no characteristics is the aspect of cessation and the path, because what is without characteristics, and by what path is the characteristic of discrimination eliminated. The statement that the aspects of peace are without characteristics is related to the characteristics of phenomena and is the aspect of the path of the Hearers, so there is no contradiction with that. The aspect is the absence of clinging, etc., what is said is what.

It should be examined. If merely not being manifestly attached is the same as not being manifestly attached, then because it is not so, there is no need for an antidote. But if something is not manifestly attached, then it would follow that it is like the eye, etc. If you say that, then just as it is inconsistent, so it is manifestly attached, and just as it is an antidote, so it is not manifestly attached. Again, how is it inconsistent? It is like the grasping of existence and non-existence that is universally aroused by untrue thoughts. How is it an antidote? It is like those that do not exist. Again, how do those not exist? It is just as it will be explained immediately: "O venerable Shariputra, if for that which is without mind, existence itself or non-existence itself is non-existent or invisible, then, what is the mind that is without mind, does that exist?" Is such a refutation reasonable? This is said. This is also said about particularly not abiding and universally not knowing. Concerning the truths of cessation and the path, it is spoken through the power of the warm object and the distinctions of aspects, that cessation should be manifested in this way. Through this, cessation is manifested. The path should be cultivated in this way. Like not being manifestly attached, etc. Among these, "like this" speaks of the four aspects of each of the four truths. "This" speaks of the aspects of enlightenment that have become its collection. Here, cessation and the path are said to be the door to liberation, without signs. There are three kinds of signs: relying on all afflictions and pure dharmas, and the sign of manifest attachment that does not rely; for those that should be practiced and those that should not be practiced, the basis of learning and not learning, the sign of particularly abiding; generosity and other perfections, and those that are not perfections, etc., the sign of skillful means and unskillful means, all knowing. The opposite of these is spoken to show the meaning of no sign. This is complete affliction. This is complete purification. These dharmas are to be relied upon. These dharmas
