Parents are like the summer season that nourishes the earth. Therefore, always rely on the noble spiritual teachers. It is not enough to just know the Dharma; practice is most important. Because human ethics are like farming. The Dharma speaks of the self, but the self does not speak of the Dharma. To understand the truth, one must first listen. Once certainty is gained, there is no need to learn too many words. Because words are endless, listening cannot reach the end. Listening and speaking are for seeking methods of practice. Without practice, listening and speaking become insignificant and empty. Explaining the Dharma to others is like a drought of words. A drought for others is of no benefit to oneself. It is like dancers and storytellers telling dances and stories. That is an ignorant person telling the history of the Dharma. Having heard much, if one cannot subdue one's own mind, even if learned, it is of no benefit, but rather becomes a cause for rebirth in samsara. Having heard much and being skilled in words is like a parrot. For any being, if one does not possess it oneself, the qualities of a precious jewel, no matter how much one speaks of them, are of no benefit to oneself. Similarly, knowing the Dharma but not possessing the Dharma, no matter how much one speaks of the qualities of practice, it is of no benefit to oneself. Furthermore, knowing but not practicing the supreme Dharma is like dying of thirst in the ocean. Furthermore, explaining the Dharma to others for profit is said to be like a bee that has found a treasure. For example, a doctor not giving medicine to a patient is like a poor woman counting the wealth of a rich man. It is like knowing the road but not going. Therefore, all beings should focus on the Dharma. Parents, children, relatives, and all relationships related to servants and work should be discussed, constrained by important matters, and focused on virtue. If one does not despise the Dharma, that is the conduct of Bodhi. Small virtues, great sins, and without generating the supreme Bodhicitta, virtues cannot overcome other (evil deeds). Therefore, in order to eliminate the unhappiness of oneself and others who are bound in the prison of samsara and suffering, one should not abandon the two Bodhicittas. For those who possess a sinless virtuous mind, they should be regarded as the sons of the Buddhas, and all gods and humans should pay homage to them. In short, three types of Bodhi are needed: first, one needs to aspire; in the middle, one needs to enter (practice); and finally, one needs to abide in that meaning itself. If one aspires but does not enter (practice) or abide in the meaning, mere intention cannot obtain the fruit. Therefore, one should practice the great Bodhi conduct. The reason is difficulty and

If one does not give away heads and eyes, etc., one will not attain the fruit of enlightenment. What is the most difficult thing to give away? Among all limbs, the head is the first. King Moonlight once gave away his head. If practiced in this way, one will attain enlightenment. Therefore, one should forever abandon the Dharma of Samsara and enter the path of Nirvana. If the Perfection of Generosity is perfected, then the first ground, the Joyful Ground, is attained. If the Perfection of Discipline is perfected, then the second ground, the Stainless Ground, is also attained. If the Perfection of Patience is perfected, then the third ground, the Illuminating Ground, is also attained. If the Perfection of Diligence is perfected, then the fourth ground, the Blazing Wisdom Ground, is also attained. If the Perfection of Meditation is perfected, then the fifth ground, the Very Difficult to Train Ground, is also attained. If the Perfection of Wisdom is perfected, then the sixth ground, the Manifest Ground, is also attained. If the Perfection of Skillful Means is perfected, then the seventh ground, the Far-Going Ground, is also attained. If the Perfection of Aspiration is perfected, then the eighth ground, the Immovable Ground, is also attained. If the Perfection of Strength is perfected, then the ninth ground, the Good Intelligence Ground, is also attained. If the Perfection of Wisdom is perfected, then the tenth ground, the Cloud of Dharma Ground, is also attained. The result will be the spontaneous accomplishment of the three bodies. Just as the Sugatas of the past generated the supreme mind of enlightenment, and the vast conduct of the Bodhisattvas, abiding in sequence, attained the fruit. Likewise, for the benefit of oneself and others, after generating the mind of enlightenment, practice the virtuous Dharma. Thus, practicing the supreme Dharma is the nectar medicine that destroys afflictions, the Lord of Death, and the armies of demons. Therefore, one should uphold and practice the Dharma accordingly. If one does not practice the Dharma, what is the use of the name of a Dharma practitioner? If one does not protect the precepts, what is the use of being called a Bhikshu? If there is no Samaya, what is the use of being called a Mantrika? Even small sins should not be despised, they should be abandoned. Even small virtues should be accepted. In short, the four immeasurables and the four ways of gathering disciples, if practiced for the benefit of others, will not diminish one's own benefit. Therefore, one should purify the two obscurations and accumulate the two accumulations. The person who acts in accordance with the Buddha's words and meaning, and who gives generously to virtue without attachment, is of the Bodhisattva lineage, therefore, one should not, out of jealousy, falsely accuse them.
