"Par gyis" means to open the ears. "De zhes pa" means remaining. If asked how, it is said to be "respectful." Respect here is the way of listening, because one holds the words and meanings without reversing them, and holds them correctly with faith, so you should listen from the lama. In addition, just as rain falls into covered, unclean, leaky bottles, etc., it is meaningless, so in order not to talk about those. Why should one listen respectfully? It is said to be "Glorious Vajrasattva." "Glorious" means the accumulation of merit and the accumulation of wisdom, taking refuge in the Three Jewels, etc., is merit, and cultivating the ultimate bodhicitta, etc., is the accumulation of wisdom. In terms of the Paramitas, generosity, discipline, and patience are the accumulation of merit, while wisdom, skillful means, aspiration, wisdom, and power are the accumulation of wisdom. Diligence Paramita and Dhyana Paramita belong to both. "Vajrasattva," because of its indivisibility and similarity to the Vajra Dharma, is Vajra, and because it is indestructible and unchanging, it is Sattva. It is both Vajra and Sattva, so it is Vajrasattva, meaning that it is naturally luminous and naturally constant, and is the holder of the constant Vajra. Or, in order to excel in all dharmas, it is Vajra, which is the Dharmadhatu. Because it is constantly and completely integrated into it, it is Vajrasattva itself. Etymologically, it is also the removal and display of letters. The Vajrasattva with merit is the Glorious Vajrasattva, which is an abbreviation omitting the middle words. Its fruition is the status of Vajrasattva, which is Vajradhara itself. Obtaining it means having attained it, and its cause is that action. So, can merely hearing it become the cause of accomplishing what is desired? Indeed, but it can only be transformed through transmission. For example, after hearing it, one fully understands what should and should not be done, and from those things

So! Moreover, this will also become the cause for fulfilling desires. Therefore, for the sake of the supreme fruit, it is proper to listen to and rely on the guru, and to strive with reverence. In order to reveal that, the scriptures should also be called "like poetry whose melody is not stolen." After closely arranging verses of meaning such as offerings and praises to the supreme deity, the greatness of the guru's nature is shown by "supreme empowerment" and so on. It is said that the Vajra Acharya is connected to the Tathagatas (Tibetan: དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས།) with prostrations. Vajra is the discipline of Vajradhara, and because it is fully practiced, it is the Vajra Acharya. Or, because it can distinguish others and is not distinguished by others, it is the same as the Vajra Dharma. Non-dual wisdom is Vajra, and because it causes disciples to enter into that and fully practice it, it is the Vajra Acharya. What will that become like? It is said to be empowerment. Empowerment is bathing, and that is also said to be empowerment because it washes away the dirt of the external body. The supreme is the main thing, because it is the cause of obtaining the supreme fruit. It is both empowerment and supreme, so it is the supreme empowerment. Or, the supreme of empowerments is the peak, called the ultimate fourth empowerment, which is the supreme empowerment. What is obtained by those is the attainment of the supreme empowerment. "Ni" means "because of what." Or, it means only and reason. The Tathagata is the one who acts as it should be, so it is the Tathagata, because it truly knows all times, all aspects, and all knowable things. Because it is reversed in some peculiar places, the letter "ཏ་" is the letter "ད་." Because it truly reveals the Dharma to the beings to be tamed as it is thought, as it is reasoned, and as it is timed, it speaks as it should be spoken, so it is the Tathagata, those Tathagatas. What will it become like? It is said to be the ten directions, ten being the four directions such as east and

The four, such as fire, and the two, above and below. Thus, it is both a direction and ten, hence the ten directions. The so-called "world realm" refers to the Buddha-fields that are completely pure and completely impure, the noble ones and the non-noble ones, etc., which means "holding the world." Those who dwell in those places of the ten directions' world realms, that is, those who dwell in the ten directions' world realms. The so-called "three times" refers to the three times, namely morning, noon, and afternoon, meaning in those times. Coming from those places to prostrate is manifest prostration, meaning to pay homage. Then, doesn't the Acharya prostrate to the Tathagatas? In response to this, how is it that they prostrate to this one? Because it is the body of Vajradhara, and Vajradhara is also the nature of all Tathagatas. "The Acharya and the Vajra-holder should not be regarded as different." It will be so declared. As stated in the Glorious Compendium: "The child asked: Bhagavan, how should all the Tathagatas and all the Bodhisattvas regard the Vajra Acharya who has received the empowerment of the secret union of body, speech, and mind of all the Tathagatas? All the Tathagatas bestowed their teachings: Son of the lineage, all the Tathagatas and all the Bodhisattvas should regard the mind of enlightenment as a vajra." And so on, it is extensively discussed in the seventeenth chapter. The Tathagatas prostrate to the Vajra Acharya; wise people should not doubt this. Thus, the ritual for pleasing the Acharya is very briefly explained, starting with "three times," and is related to "reliance." The so-called "that" refers to the Vajra Acharya who has received the supreme empowerment. The so-called "reliance" means truly pleasing him. What is that like? The so-called "teacher and lama" means that for sentient beings, through showing the key instructions of the path of higher rebirth and definite goodness, he is a teacher, that is, an instructor.
