There are also two types of tantras: the Yoga Method Tantra and the Yoga Wisdom Tantra. These are also considered to be of two types: the Supreme Yoga Tantra and the Unsurpassed Yoga Tantra, also known as the Intellect Tantra and the Root Tantra. The distinction between the Method and Wisdom Tantras lies in the fact that they are distinguished by showing Suchness, those to be tamed, purity, and common manifestations, etc. Among them, the tantra that mainly shows the vast Suchness is the Method Tantra. The tantra that mainly emphasizes profundity is the Wisdom Tantra. The mandala that shows many male deities in order to subdue men and one's own group is the Method Tantra. The mandala that shows many female deities in accordance with women and non-Buddhist heretics in order to subdue them is the Wisdom Tantra. The deity that shows the purity of the inner and outer aggregates, elements, and sources is the Method Tantra. The deity that shows the purity of the inner and outer channels and the mind of enlightenment is the Wisdom Tantra. The deity that shows the form of a deity that conforms to the world is the Method Tantra. The deity that shows the form of a deity that contradicts the world is called the Wisdom Tantra, and so on, these are all fabricated. As it is said: "By the difference of wisdom, yogis are considered to be of two types." So it is said. Among them, the meaning of the Method and Wisdom Tantras, in short, is three types as before, namely, the object, the result, and the cause. Among them, those who want to see the meaning of Suchness should understand and comprehend the object, which in short is two types, namely, conventional truth and ultimate truth. Among them, conventional truth is also of two types, namely, the true and the untrue. Among them, the true conventional is the luminosity of the nature of mind, which is considered to be the ultimate truth of nomenclature. As it is said in the Collected Vajra Wisdom: "The mind is of the nature of space, pervading the essence of formlessness, going

And is free from coming and going. Thus it is said. The non-truly existent conventional truth is all the dharmas that are the opposite of this. Their common characteristic is: by the power of wind, various appearances appear and cause them to be experienced. Regarding this, in the Prophecy of Intentions Sutra it says: As long as the world investigates, Likewise, various investigations, Called conceptual thought bodhicitta, Like the wind, constantly arise. Happiness, suffering, and other dharmas, Are said to be like seeds. Thus it is said. Furthermore, in the Compendium of Wisdom Vajra it says: Son of lineage, conventional truth is unstable and moving. Its truth is like the moon in water. Also, in that same sutra it says: Consciousness arises from clear light. It is called mind and intellect, All defiled and purified dharmas are its root. Thus it is said. In the sutra that has become the king of all tantras it says: All these beings are the nature of the five Buddhas, Appearing like dancers and excellent musical instruments. Where is the one called great bliss, The only one manifests and dances in many forms. Thus it is said. In the Prophecy of Intentions Sutra it also says: From bodhicitta wind arises, From space it abides, Becoming the life of all sentient beings, The five natures with ten names, Known as the twelve links of dependent origination, The nature of all things transforms into three. Thus it is said. Also, in that same sutra it says: From the self-life that has become the essence, There is nothing else in the three realms, The three realms are the emanation of wind, Look at it like seeing a dream in a dream. Thus it is said. Also, in that same sutra it says: Birth and abiding and destruction, And abiding in the intermediate state, Whatever the world investigates, Are all transformations of mind and wind. Thus it is said. Furthermore, in the Garland of Appearances it also says: Relying on mind-only, Do not investigate external objects. Focusing on suchness, One should practice from mind-only. Having practiced from mind-only, One will abide in non-appearance. The yogi who abides in non-appearance, He will see the Great Vehicle. Thus it is said. In the Precious Garland it also says: The aggregates that arise from self-grasping, That self-grasping is false in meaning.
