It is not ultimate, because it is inferior to it. We say that suffering that is not inverted is the ultimate. If someone asks, is it because of this that the Blessed One spoke of the truth of suffering? That is not correct. Because in order to make the hearers enter, it is said that suffering and so on are true. Even if it is not, it is like saying that there is a self with compassion. This is because the Blessed One knew that the hearers were of little diligence and could not enter the great practice of the Bodhisattvas, so with a heart endowed with great compassion, even if suffering and so on were not true, he said they were true. Also, if these are taken literally, then at that time it was also said that there is a self, so I am also that reality. It is like, what fault is there in showing the father's empty wine jug in order to save the children living in the burning house? Actions are determined by intention and become good or bad, which will be explained below. Moreover, this is not something we say merely by moving our fingers, otherwise, the Blessed One himself said in the Sutra of the Samadhi of the Seal of the Wisdom of the Tathagata, when sitting under the Bodhi tree, if one sees one truth as it is, what need is there to mention four? And in the Holy Dharma Perfectly Gathered Sutra it is also said: Unborn is the Dharma of truth, other words are not truth. Furthermore, this meaning is also abundant in other sutras, why do you slander us who follow the Buddha's teachings? As it is said in the Commentary on Valid Cognition, what we say also follows and elaborates on it in a way that is non-dual with valid cognition, does it not? Similarly, the noble Nagarjuna and others also elucidated the ultimate truth and the conventional truth, merely causing one to realize that the truth and the other truth are manifest. From the beginning, there has been no arising, which the Blessed One has extensively taught in countless sutras.

No. Furthermore, it is also stated in the Sutra of the Elephant's Armpit Binding: "That which arises by birth, children consider to arise in the nature of non-things." Similarly, in the Jewel Source it says: "If a thing itself does not exist, how can it become a condition for other things? What will a non-thing give rise to? This reason was spoken by the Sugata." Also, in the Sutra Requested by the Noble Naga King Ocean, it says: "The prior limit is empty, the later limit is empty, the things of arising, ceasing, and abiding are empty, things themselves are non-existent, and non-things are also non-existent, all phenomena are the nature of emptiness." Also, in the Meeting of Father and Son Sutra, it says: "All these phenomena are equal by the equality of the three times, all the phenomena of the past time are devoid of self-nature, and all the phenomena of the future and present are empty of self-nature." Furthermore, it is made clear in the same sutra: "All phenomena are empty of self-nature, whatever phenomenon is without things, that is not past, not future, not so happened. Why is that? Because things do not exist. It cannot be established as past, not future, it cannot be established as happening now." Thus it is said. Similarly, in the Entering the Two Truths Sutra, it also says: "Again, Manjushri, what is the true union? Manjushri said: Son of the gods, it is the same as the ultimate truth, and suchness, and the realm of dharma, and the unborn, and the one who commits the five inexpiable sins." And so on, extensively explaining that all defiled and purified dharmas are equality, and then saying: "Again, Manjushri, by what ultimate equality is the purified equality the same as all dharmas? Manjushri said: Son of the gods, in the ultimate truth, all dharmas are the equality of the unborn, in the ultimate truth, all dharmas are the equality of the extremely unarisen, in the ultimate truth, all dharmas are the equality of non-things, by this all dharmas are equality." Thus it is extensively said. Furthermore, in the Noble King of Samadhi Sutra, it also says:

For example, from the pith of a moist tree, if a person seeking essence searches everywhere, there is no essence inside or out. Know that all dharmas are like that. Thus it is said. Again, from that same source: For example, when a young man is in a dream, he sees a son born and then die. He rejoices at the birth and grieves at the death. Know that all dharmas are like that. Thus it is said. Also, from the Ornament of Light of Wisdom Entering the Realm of All Buddhas: The ever-unborn dharma is the Thus-Gone One. All dharmas are like the Thus-Gone One. Those with childish minds who grasp at signs practice dharmas that do not exist in the world. Thus it is said. Similarly, from the Tantra of Union with All Buddhas: All is the nature of space. Space itself has no nature. All three realms are entirely like illusions. Just as in all illusions, seeing and touching occur, but there is no object, so is the way of all beings. Thus it is said. Similarly, from the Bhagavati Mother Prajnaparamita: Subhuti, form is empty of inherent nature, and from there up to consciousness, it is closely grasped and said to be of the nature of emptiness. Also, from the Jewel Mine: Manjushri, are all the dharmas of the Buddhas not dharmas? It is said, Venerable Subhuti, there is no truly arising dharma of the Buddhas. Whatever arises is the dharmata of dharmas, and it should not be said thus. Therefore, the Bhagavan said, 'It is not a dharma.' Therefore, whatever is said is spoken from the perspective of the completely imputed nature, and that is the truth. If it is said that expressing the completely imputed nature contradicts valid cognition, but children take it to be the truth, then if that is the case, birth and so on are completely imputed, which contradicts valid cognition. Therefore, it is unborn, and it is established that that is the truth. This is what the Bhagavan clearly stated in the True Dharma Collection: Son of lineage.
