Through the practice of seeing and meditating, in their respective ordinary stages, due to correctly realizing the merits arising from Mahamudra, they possess the sign of non-retrogression. Because they possess great compassion, in order to perfect the two accumulations, they do not wish to strive very diligently. Inferior faculties also do not necessarily possess Mahamudra, therefore, as long as they have not obtained the fruit of long-standing, this is because of the lack of great compassion, so they wish to engage in very inferior diligence on their own path. These are also said to be because the first practice of calm abiding and insight is for the sake of entering the practice of non-dual yoga of Mahamudra. Superior faculties who are particularly interested in being free from desire, even if they are very diligent in practicing the truths such as suffering, are single-mindedly greedy for the benefit of others. Intermediate faculties also only because they are diligent in practicing the truths, so they are slightly greedy for the benefit of others. Therefore, these two will become Pratyekabuddhas. Inferior faculties are only very diligent in practicing the truths, so they single-mindedly want to subdue themselves and tranquility, etc., so they will become Shravakas. Those who strive for the path of being free from desire will not become Buddhas because of the non-duality of Mahamudra, so it is said. In this way, the clear distinction of the nine categories is divided by the protector according to the inclinations of the beings to be tamed. Therefore, following the tenets of Madhyamaka, this is the explanation of the conduct of guidance. The first chapter on the clear distinction of categories from "Entering Thatness," composed by the teacher Yeshe Drakpa, ends. Starting from observing the disciples and their behavior, after striving to understand, combining accordingly according to the situation, the Buddha declared that this is the quality that a teacher should have. These beings to be tamed must also clearly understand the differences as mentioned above through some signs and behaviors, and the teacher must combine them accordingly according to his own practice sequence as described below. As it is said: If the guru understands the disciple's mind, he can guide accordingly, so he can accept disciples, and should not accept ignorant disciples. So it is said. Similarly, who benefits first.
