Each syllable below fifteen should be recited one million times. From sixteen up to thirty-two, three million recitations should be done. Above that, three million recitations should be done, it is said. Here, the Bhagavan Vajravidāraṇa, who is supremely skilled in the samādhi abiding in sound, should be done during the time of approach. If it is done for the vase, it should be done once. Recitation done between approach and accomplishment should be known as the wisdom of both. Now, the ritual of accomplishment is taught. So, if the ritual of the mandala is required according to the method of accomplishment, why is the ritual of the mandala not taught in this particular tantra? Because the ritual of the vase depends on the mandala. Therefore, by teaching that, the mandala is also known implicitly. That the ritual of the vase depends on the mandala is stated in the Tantra of Good Arms: "The vase should be placed around the mandala." It is said. And if there are eight vases, the vases should be placed on the sides of the four doors, and if there are twelve, they should also be placed on the four corners, it is said. Also from the Secret General Tantra: "Monasteries and doors, without exception, after the vases have been placed, two by two between the great doors, should be placed especially. One vase at the outer door, should be placed visibly nearby." It is said. So, if the mandala is taught here, why is the ritual of the vase not completed in the general tantra? That is because they are different. There is no difference between the ritual of the mandala and just drawing it. But there are differences in the ritual of the vase. Uncommon substances for the vase of Vajravidāraṇa are needed, namely mustard seeds, durva grass, diamonds, and garlands of red flowers. Therefore, there is no difference in the ritual of the mandala, so it is not taught here, and it should be known from the general tantra of the Vajra family. There are differences in the ritual of the vase, so it is taught here. Therefore, there is no contradiction in not teaching the mandala here. Now, at the time of accomplishment, there are three aspects to teaching the characteristics of the vase, the number of recitations, the necessity of bathing, and so on: teaching the characteristics of the vase with its substances, and the number of recitations to be done on it, and the symbols of approaching those to be tamed.

This describes the characteristics of a vase. First, the characteristics of the vase are explained. "Norbu (Tibetan: ནོར་བུ།, literally: jewel)" is mentioned as a general term, including various gems such as agate, Indranila (Tibetan: ཨིནྡྲ་ནཱི་ལ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: इन्द्रनील, Sanskrit Romanization: indranīla, literally: sapphire), and ruby, etc. "Yungkar (Tibetan: ཡུངས་ཀར།)" refers to placing mustard seeds in a clean gold container to cover the mouth of the vase, and then placing the clean container on top. These mustard seeds should be visualized as a single vajra, or each as a wrathful deity. "Durva (Tibetan: དཱུར་བ།)" refers to tying the neck of the vase with a green thread, making a knot, and reinforcing it with cow dung, and then inserting seven strands of durva grass on top to prevent obstacles, etc., from entering. "Precious (Tibetan: རིན་ཆེན་)" refers to the five precious substances: jewel, coral, gold salabram, pearl, and crystal. "Flawless (Tibetan: རྨ་མེད་)" refers to being without cracks and capable of serving as an ornament. "Chandana (Tibetan: ཙནྡན་)" refers to the five fragrances: chandana, camphor, saffron, nutmeg, and musk, which some lamas say should also be added. In the Kriya, it is said, "One should not include limbs of living beings." It is said that if nagas cause harm, adding musk will be effective. "Including (Tibetan: བཅས་)" refers to collecting the five medicines, five grains, and five essences. The five medicines are: bird medicine, lion medicine, giri karnika, hasa, and hasadeva. The five grains are: rice, beans, barley, wheat, and sesame. The five essences are: the essence of earth - sesame, the essence of water - salt, the essence of plants - ghee, the essence of fruits - brown sugar, and the essence of flowers - honey. "Crystal (Tibetan: ཤེལ་)" refers to the actual object. "Vajra (Tibetan: རྡོ་རྗེ་)" refers to a precious diamond. If there is no diamond, it is said that one should use a heavy, eight-sided crystal. "Flowers (Tibetan: མེ་ཏོག་)" refers to making garlands of red, fragrant flowers and decorating the neck of the vase. "Water (Tibetan: ཆུ་)" refers to filling the vase with clean, lifeless water. Fragrant water can also be added. "Gold or (Tibetan: གསེར་རམ་)" or a silver vase refers to the material of the vase. The measurements, etc., should be understood in the bathing ritual. "Pure (Tibetan: དག་)" refers to copper, etc. "Also (Tibetan: ཀྱང་)" refers to the meaning of inclusion. The poor cannot obtain these.
