These are the causes for the manifestation of afflictions. Vidyā-mantra refers to external objects. Severance is the realization that things other than the mind are not established. Vidyā-mantra is as before, it is the prevention of harm to the object of subjugation. Karma is effort and diligence. Because one strives and performs the karma of emptiness, it destroys. The other present karma is the previous karma. Destruction is exhausting and pacifying. Demon is conceptualization. Everything is good and bad, etc. Annihilation is the transformation of nature by realizing the meaning. Demon is as before. Liberation is the permanent cessation of rebirth. Bhūta are the four elements, such as the wind of breath. Summoning is wind, etc., by the power of abiding in the samādhi of emptiness, cutting off the natural flow and manifesting it. Vidyā-mantra are objects. All karma is transformed into appearance, because of gaining power over the elements. Unaccomplished is when samādhi is not clear. To accomplish is to clarify and stabilize suchness with ablutions such as thusness. Accomplishment is samādhi itself. Not wasted is not degenerating again. From the Dharmakāya, it appears as the Rūpakāya, and thus benefits as desired, so it is the perfect bestowal of all desires. From that samādhi, all the Buddha's teachings arise, so it is the bestowal of all desires. Sentient beings are those to be tamed. Protection is from saṃsāra. How to protect? With the four afflictions and the corresponding activities. What are the four afflictions? For those with desire, hatred, ignorance, and equanimity, apply pacifying, wrathful, magnetizing, and enriching activities respectively. To stiffen is for the one with hatred. To darken is for the one with ignorance. Furthermore, pacifying is suchness and the dharmadhātu. Enriching is for the manifested Dharmakāya. Stiffening is wrathful, because it manifests enjoyment in great bliss, so it is the Saṃbhogakāya. Darkening is to be understood as the Nirmāṇakāya because it does not possess wisdom, etc. Pacifying is by what means the coarse movements of sentient beings are pacified and abide. Enriching is seeing or realizing an experience that is superior to that. Stiffening is peacefully abidin

Because the mind does not experience itself when seeing with remaining things like earth and trees, therefore it is called rigidity. If one remains in that state, no object of focus is established, and because there is nothing that can become seeing, realization, or a distinct entity, it is called darkness, meaning remaining in the state of emptiness. The so-called great power of mantra is that the emptiness mentioned earlier is the nature of all dharmas, and it is essentially secret or hidden, difficult to realize, therefore it is called mantra. Its power is the energy of the truth of Dharma-nature. The so-called great means that it can also destroy the great collection of things and signs, and the signs cannot in turn destroy it or find flaws, just as the sun destroys darkness, but darkness cannot do the same. The so-called well-spoken means that words and letters are temporarily spoken as a part of realizing profound meaning, but for the Vajra heart or true meaning, it cannot be spoken or shown, because it is the essence of self-aware wisdom. Sanskrit Romanization: namo ratna trayāya,Literal Chinese meaning: Homage to the Three Jewels) and other mantras, because the blessing becomes small, therefore it is not explained. So, what will become of the meaning of such teachings? The root of all tantras—ignorance and other faults are pacified, so that all the painful results of faults will not arise. Considering this, (in the sutra) it says: All suffering has been purified, all misery has been eliminated. It is said in this way, that these sufferings such as birth are caused by the past deeds of sin and non-virtue, and the karma of sin and non-virtue also resides in the mind, therefore, whoever realizes the clear light of the nature of the mind, at that time the defilements of habits are purified, so that all sins are purified, and the ripening of its karmic results, such as suffering, all that will be experienced will also be eliminated, it will be taught in this way. Now, the perfect results of the worldly and transcendental are proclaimed. Here, the result of mantra is not desired to be like the Nirvana without remainder of the Hearers and Solitary Realizers, like a lamp extinguished at dawn, but is based on qualities, (in the sutra) it says: All glory has been well adorned. Thus it is said.
