Commentary on the Dharani Called "Vajra Vidarana", Jowo Smriti. Commentary on the Dharani Called "Vajra Vidarana". Jowo Smriti. In Indian language: Vajra Vidarana Nama Dharani Vrtti. In Tibetan: Commentary on the Dharani Called "Vajra Vidarana". Homage to the Bhagavan Vajra Vidarana! With wisdom like a vajra, Subduing the difficult to tame, The nature of reality, supremely profound, I bow to the body of Vajra Vidarana! Briefly, what is to be fully known are the Paramita Vehicle and what is to be practiced are the two Mantra Vehicles. Also in Mantra, there are the Tantras spoken by Vajradhara and the oral instructions of the holy Guru that do not contradict them. The Tantra is to be understood by way of classification and explanation. Briefly, the classification of the general Tantra is: whatever is continuous, that is its Tantra. As it says in the Tantra: Tantra is called continuous, Samsara is considered as Tantra, Nirvana is the later Tantra. Thus it is said. Furthermore, the meaning of being without deficiency and related, etc., should also be understood in the same way. Such a Tantra also has four aspects due to the difference of those to be tamed and the difference of the meaning of the subject matter. What are those? Kriya and Carya, and Anuttarayoga Tantra. Others say that showing the view of the upper Tantra and showing the practice of the lower Tantra, the Tantra of both and five, this is not reasonable. If so, then in some Tantras, the meaning of almost all Tantras is fully explained, then it will exceed the five Tantra classes, and this fault is also difficult to avoid. Therefore, there are only four Tantras. Here, since it is time to show the Kriya Tantra, it should be spoken. From the crown of the Sambhogakaya, a wrathful one with rays of light appeared and asked, and what was explained is called the Ushnishacakravartin Tantra. Similarly, the face is wrathful with flames blazing, and the nose, and the arms, and the heart, and the secret place, and the ankles of the feet, etc., to the emanation questioner, the secret general Tantra and the Tantras such as the good arms are explained.

The profound meaning of all things, briefly stated, is the Vajra Destroyer spoken by Vajrapani, also known as the Limb Tantra or the Oral Instruction Tantra. Thus, in brief, it is the explanation of establishing the Tantra. After that, the way of explaining the Tantra should be spoken. There are five perfections in it: the teacher, the place, the time, the Dharma, and the retinue. Among them, the teacher is the Sambhogakaya. The place is the palace of the Dharmadhatu. The time is after the three wheels of Dharma were spoken in Jambudvipa, or at an inconceivable time. The Dharma is the Vajra Destroyer and other tantras. The retinue is the ten-bhumi bodhisattva Vajrapani and others. Thus, it is the way of explaining the Tantra. Now let's get into the meaning of the text, which is divided into two: one is the interpretable meaning and the definitive meaning explained according to the letters; the other is the oral instruction meaning, which shows the four initiations with the distinction of outer, inner, secret, and suchness. Among them, first of all, the meaning of the letters should be spoken, and among them, first of all, the definitive meaning should be spoken, and the meaning of the letters should be spoken from below as it sounds. If it is said in the definitive meaning, it is to transform the suchness of all dharmas, and it cannot be transformed. The meaning of the letters that cannot be transformed should be spoken. Among them, first of all, the definitive meaning should be spoken, so it is said like this. In reality, all dharmas are inseparable from suchness, because it is suchness, it is called I. If it is said that suchness has no nature such as color and shape, how can it be realized? For this reason, it is said: It will be realized by the grace of the guru. This is called hearing. That is, the guru shows it by means of metaphors and so on, and gradually definite understanding will arise, but it is not suddenly heard or realized as one's own nature. Such a supreme guru is very difficult to find, and even if he is accepted, it is difficult to quickly realize suchness. It is necessary to practice gradually, and then one can realize a little, so it is said at one time. The meaning of realizing in this way is called a philosophical tenet or a view. Abiding in the meaning of such realization and becoming familiar with it
