It is to abandon discursive thoughts of desire and aggression, and so on. In the power of joy and bliss, it is said, "Joy obtains a very supple body, and a supple body becomes fortunate to have bliss." This shows the limb of benefit, which is to obtain joy and bliss born from being separated from the opposing factors that are counteracted by both discursive thought and analysis. In the power of one-pointedness of mind, it is said, "For a person who has a one-pointed mind, great joy born from the mind arises." This shows the limb of the place of both antidote and benefit, which is to make discursive thoughts and so on not arise through the power of relying on samadhi. The second dhyana has four limbs, namely inner clarity, joy, bliss, and one-pointedness of mind. In the power of inner clarity, it is said, "With a clear mind, one will obtain the bliss of gods and humans, as well as the higher realms and liberation." This shows seeing discursive thought and analysis themselves as faults, and showing them as their antidote. Joy, bliss, and one-pointedness of mind as limbs, the remaining two are as before. The third dhyana has five limbs, namely equanimity, mindfulness, awareness, bliss, and one-pointedness of mind. Among them, in the power of equanimity, it is said, "Having equanimity," which is equality of mind, abiding of mind in reality, and spontaneous accomplishment of mind. In the power of mindfulness and awareness, Just as in a windless room, A lamp placed does not flicker, With one-pointed mind focused, The Dharma likewise blazes in the body. This says that mindfulness is not forgetting familiar objects. Awareness is not being distracted elsewhere. These three are to abandon discursive thoughts of joy, so they are shown as limbs of the antidote. Bliss and one-pointedness of mind themselves are the same as the remaining limbs and order. The fourth dhyana has four limbs, namely pure equanimity, pure mindfulness, neither suffering nor pleasure, and one-pointedness of mind. Among them, pure equanimity and pure mindf
