Anger and dharmata also abide naturally, therefore it is anger towards characteristics. Ignorance is the absence of acceptance and rejection, that is, acting without acceptance and rejection for the benefit of beings, and because dharmata is the object, it does not abide in anything, therefore it is the meaning of greatness. 'Purifying existence and non-existence', means: existence is samsara, purifying with compassion; non-existence is nirvana, purifying with wisdom. 'Peaceful and subdued', means: peaceful is dharmata, subdued is wisdom, it is the meaning of the connection between dharmata and wisdom. The compassion of 'great joy' is to purify all sentient beings, and wisdom is to see the purity of dharmata. The meaning of Buddha is that he is Buddha because he has abandoned afflictions, and he is endowed because he pervades the knowable with wisdom. 'Buddha completely realized', means: because there is no lack of understanding of the intentions of the Buddhas of the three times. 'Buddha nature', means: because it has become the nature of body, speech, and mind of all Buddhas of the three times, therefore it is nature. 'Buddha body', means: having become the nature of the body of all Tathagatas, it subdues the hosts of demons who obstruct the body, and is the essence of the activity of the body. 'Vajra supremely born', means: because speech is supremely born like a vajra, it liberates the continuum of beings, and because it has mastery over speech. 'Vajrasattva', means: because he has attained complete purity of mind of Vajrasattva and has attained mastery, therefore he is Vajrasattva. 'Samantabhadra', means: because Samantabhadra can subdue the harmful ones, therefore in terms of subduing, from Wastan onwards, he is the great master of the harmful ones. 'Greatly virtuous', means: in order to accomplish all the wealth of sentient beings, he subdued the filled virtuous one, filled with wealth, therefore he became its master, so it is called greatly virtuous. 'Adorned with excellent and supreme marks', means: because he has power over the thirty-two marks and eighty minor marks, therefore he is the excellent and supreme marks, because it is unique and superior to others, therefore it is supreme. Adornment refers to the body adorned with common marks in terms of subduing, unique

The land is adorned by your wisdom. The term "Lord of the Three Realms" signifies that with great compassion, you have taken hold of the lordship of the three realms, becoming the ruler of us sentient beings and the chief of our retinue. The term "Pervader" signifies that you pervade the three existences with compassion and activity, and therefore you are known everywhere as Vajrapani. The term "All Vajra" signifies that in all Buddha-fields without exception, you hold the vajra in your hand, and you subdue the maras and others who harm that holding, or you subdue them through vajra-like means. The term "Self-Nature Pure" signifies that even though you have become the lord of the three existences, you are pure because you have abandoned the obscurations of afflictions and the obscurations of knowledge. Alternatively, since you have become the nature or essence of the Buddhas of the three times, you are free from all kinds of discordant faults, hence the meaning of "Self-Nature Pure." The one hundred and eight names have been explained separately. Now, I will explain the meaning of taking hold of this tantra. Why is that? Because it says, "Whoever writes or reads this?" This is a general term, or it is a collection of Dharma, meaning anyone at all. It means that he writes the meaning of this tantra in letters, and I hold it myself, or write it for others and give it away, or I read what is written, or have others read it, or constantly have it read as a yidam. The term "always keeps its meaning" means to always keep the meaning in mind, or to keep the words on the scripture. It can also be heard after remembering. The term "hearing after remembering" means that with the wisdom of vipashyana, one hears the meaning of the tantra, and thinks and meditates on the meaning of what is heard. Now it is the meaning of transforming into the Tathagata lineage. Why is that? Because it says, "Will become like Vajrapani." Therefore, this tantra dwells in the mind-continuum of Vajrapani, and whoever takes this itself, will become like Vajrapani. Why is that? Because this tantra is said to be the cause of being obtained through realization.

Now, when this tantra is spoken, it shows the joy of the retinue. And why is that? Because there are phrases such as "The Bhagavan thus declared." The Bhagavan is Shakyamuni Buddha. And why is that? Because it is his declaration, so it is mainly described in detail. The so-called "thus declared" and so on, refers to the meaning of this tantra, that is, thus declared. And how is it declared? It is declared in two parts: the introduction and the explanation of the main text. The introduction is also divided into two types: the perfect introduction and the special introduction. The perfect introduction is also divided into five types: namely, the teacher, the retinue, the place, the compiler, the time, and the manner. The special introduction is of two types: the teacher's initiation and the retinue's initiation. The explanation of the meaning of the main text is also divided into two types: namely, the mandala and the fire offering. This is also because although the mind abides in the state of non-discrimination, it performs various activities in the mundane world, therefore the mandala is declared. In order to burn the signs of inverted and confused afflictions, it is declared in the fire offering, that is, it is declared. This is also because the mandala is declared in two ways: one is to declare that it does not contradict the transcendental ultimate truth, and the other is to declare the mundane conventional truth. Among them, the transcendental is also divided into six types: namely, everything is the nature of bodhicitta, and afflicted beings are the field of compassion, therefore the Kunrig root mandala is declared. The mind is completely pure, manifesting emanations, and in order to purify the lower realms, the crown is declared. The death of beings is caused by past karma, and in order to purify it, the mandala of the immeasurable life Buddha's adornment of karma obscurations is declared. Because beings die due to sudden causes, in order to dispel it, the immeasurable life Buddha is declared, and in the activities of benefiting beings, the wheel-turning king of the four castes is declared. For those who cannot be subdued by peaceful means, they must be subdued by fierce means, therefore the wrathful Vajra Sun Flame mandala is declared. Mundane dharmas are also declared in six types: namely, the individual mandalas of each mundane person.
