The eight qualities are: relying on a virtuous spiritual friend, receiving the transmission according to the scriptures, possessing wisdom from previous practice, understanding the true meaning and having faith, not being swayed by the actions of demons, abandoning worldly affairs like spitting, not abandoning diligence, and gaining control over wind and mind. Furthermore, there are four methods: first, the protective wheel; second, suchness; third, mindfulness; and the yoga of prophecy. The fourth is the mind of omniscience. Among these, first, one must know the instructions on dreams and the oral instructions on entering them, and remember them. First, control dreams. Falling asleep through this is a branch connecting to wisdom. Through this, one should also know the bardo of death. For a diligent person, the nature of bodhicitta, with the profound symbols of the illusory body and rainbow, is the meaning of transference to the state of clear light. In order to understand others through its power, for a lazy person, one should know the ripening of karma in the bardo of existence, and so on. Its realization also includes the earth, water, fire, wind, and Vajradhatu, the independent mothers, one grasping another, and knowing through the oral instruction of grasping arising without inherent conceptualization. The above is a branch of the bardo. Now, the oral instruction on the nature of disturbing the continuum, combined with the oral instruction of Lama Ngampa, is: "The one who gives birth to all Buddhas," which refers to the ultimate bodhicitta. "The lord who walks immediately after being born," which refers to seeing the meaning of true words immediately thereafter. "What is the true meaning like?" It is said, "The great foundation is clear light." Because it is similar to a bodhisattva who abides on the ground, it is said, "The supreme son of the Buddha, the most excellent." Because it does not take the birth of existence, it is said, "Consciousness has no origin, birth, or dwelling." Because that bodhicitta is like a vajra, it is said, "The nature of vajra is firm, hard, and solid." In order to show the scriptural authority for this, the Vajra Peak Sutra says, "The essence is firm and not empty, it cannot be cut or broken."

That is its nature, indestructible and imperishable, called the emptiness vajra. If one thinks of it only as emptiness, to dispel this, it is said that the vajra sun is bright, the vajra moon is without stain, and so on. If such a thinker combines it with the pāramitās, giving the mind to the five desirable qualities is generosity. Keeping body, speech, and mind equally in the mind, not deviating from it, relying on true wisdom with sincere vows is meditation. Not being afraid of the profound meaning is patience. Cultivating with constant yoga is diligence. Knowing the view of self-nature purity is wisdom. Such power can overcome everything, which is strength. Having various skillful means is the pāramitā of skillful means. Not clinging to aspirations is the pāramitā of aspiration. Having the wisdom to penetrate discriminations is the pāramitā of wisdom. Thus, combined with the pāramitās, it completely elevates from ground to ground, from the elevation of the elevator to the perfection of the twenty aspects of bodhicitta, thus perfected. Perfection is the meaning of the previously explained nature of body and wisdom. The so-called Buddha is one who has completely comprehended all that exists and all that is, without remainder, knowing without duality as it is, all signs of discrimination are extinguished, without birth, self-nature pure, the suchness that is free from all addition and slander is called self-nature emptiness. The so-called true limit is called the dharmakāya. Calling that one by many names, it is said: From the unborn, I prostrate to you! Because all such as the complete enjoyment body and the emanation body arise from this. Thus, body and wisdom completely encompass everything without remainder. And by what is it manifested? The self-nature of all things is supreme, the self-nature of all things is held, the unborn dharma shows various things. And the unchanging, all-pervading one, and so on. The Buddha's qualities, the ten powers and ten wisdoms, etc., the Buddha's body's
