That which is called "perfectly clear without depending on others" is the discrimination of the Yogacara school that speaks of appearances. The Yogacara school that speaks of non-appearances is: All of these are mind itself, and the nature of self-awareness without appearances is called mind. Furthermore: Just as a child discriminates, external objects do not exist. The mind disturbed by habitual tendencies, the appearance of objects is very likely to occur. Whatever appears, appears like an illusion. That which has no appearance is like the sky, boundless and pure. The Dharmakaya of the Great Sage is without elaboration and without appearance. The Rupakaya that arises from it remains like an illusion. What is taught is discrimination. Meditation with appearances is: completely abandoning all conceptual thoughts and directly realizing the manifold and the absence of duality. Furthermore: Whatever is to be known, if the mind applies itself to it, wherever it goes and moves, all is its own nature. This is what is taught. The meditation of those who speak of non-appearances is: directly realizing the wisdom that is non-dual, inconceivable, without elaboration, and without appearance. Furthermore: One wishes to clearly understand its essence, it is without appearance and without defilement. Non-wise people cannot know it. All of these are only mind, thinking thus and focusing on it, whatever is placed before it will not remain there alone. When the wise do not cling to objects, they abide in only mind, and because there is nothing to grasp, there is no clinging. This is what is taught. The impurity of the Samadhi of those who speak of appearances is the desire to realize the ultimate truth, abiding in the teachings of the Bhagavan and following the distinctions of reason. That is, ultimately, the nature of one's own mind, which is constant, they believe will transform into a completely transformed nature that is not other than Brahma. Furthermore: Whatever one sees slightly, regard that as Brahma. The mind is not different from Brahma, and it definitely abides in Brahma itself. This is called the impurity of Samadhi with appearances. Similarly,
