In short, for sentient beings with initial karma, when entering the supreme meaning, this method is taught by the perfect Buddha as being like the steps of a ladder. Thus it is taught. In the Lotus Sutra, it is also said: The vehicle is one, and the principle is also one. What the Lord teaches is also one. If it is said that there are three vehicles, it is my skill in means. Thus it is said. Nagarjuna also said: Because the realm of Dharma has no difference, the Lord also has no division of vehicles, but you say that there are three vehicles, which is for the sake of guiding sentient beings. Thus it is taught. It is also said in other sutras: Liberation is attained through emptiness, and if this is not known, one will be bound. The remaining meditations are for this meaning. Thus it is taught. Thus, the well-taught three vehicles are also for the sake of sentient beings to realize through the distinction between general and specific concepts by the Bhagavan. That is, Lord, at some point, you did not even say a single word. You moistened all sentient beings to be subdued with the rain of Dharma. Thus it is said. With all pervasive thoughts, although it does not waver like a wish-fulfilling jewel, it thus accomplishes all sentient beings, all wishes completely. By the means of turning the wheel of Dharma, even if one does not understand, one can be saved. By the power of the division of the assembly, the teachings can be well entered. As long as the mind enters, the vehicle has no end. When the mind itself is complete, there is no vehicle and no goer. The jewel made of the supreme Dharma is strung with immaculate and pure threads. May the precious garland that generates joy be placed on the heart by the teachings. I am ignorant of the essence, so I have not explained it extensively, but may the wise ones who please the Buddha forgive me for everything. The fortunate one prayed, and I composed this supreme and meaningful treatise with effort. By the merit I have obtained from this, may all future sentient beings become Tathagatas. The Jewel Garland of Suchness, composed by the teacher Avadhutipa, the indivisible Vajra, is complete. Translated by Nakts'o Tsultrim Gyalwa. The Jewel Garland of Suchness.
