With a steadfast mind, practicing secret conduct, that is, after the ultimate arising, outwardly practice the conduct of wisdom. Otherwise, if that (steadfast mind) is inferior, then becoming one with the cause of survival, becoming the cause of attaining hell, what can asceticism do? The practitioner abiding in that (steadfast mind), then without asceticism, accomplishment will occur. Even if practicing hundreds of thousands of ascetic practices, if that (steadfast mind) is inferior, then accomplishment will not occur. If possessing that (steadfast mind), then everything, immaculate, will also be accomplished. The practitioner possessing meditation, liberated from all sins, with asceticism obtains non-attachment, the Buddhas have not said that accomplishment is obtained by asceticism. Having known that accomplishment, it can be obtained, not by asceticism. Returning from all attachments, begging is the main thing to do, only this can pervade asceticism. After abandoning that (steadfast mind), there is no accomplishment. It is not a bathing platform, a deity statue, or giving, bathing and asceticism are also like that, all this is not true, this (steadfast mind) alone is true. Creating harm, the evil deeds done previously, with that inferior body, experiencing all the essence of asceticism. Even doing the five heinous crimes, and being tired in samsara, if possessing that (steadfast mind), then accomplishment will occur, obtaining the immaculate state. The nature of wealth's perfection, if that (steadfast mind) practices the precious, then without asceticism, that (steadfast mind) will surely go to the unsurpassed. What is said in the scriptures, whatever asceticism abides here, cannot accomplish wealth, constantly for the sake of survival. The nature of the five aggregates is form, just as it becomes the basis of discernment, so is the asceticism possessing that (steadfast mind), showing entry from that (steadfast mind). For the cause of the means of taming, and for accomplishing wealth and so on, for the sake of sentient beings, possessing that (steadfast mind), is the promised asceticism. Merely for the means of survival, each individual being takes as the main thing, how is the greatness of the sign, if separated from that (steadfast mind), then there is no accomplishment. The master possessing wealth and prosperity, constantly practicing and being tired, relying on the desired body, abiding as such from secret accomplishment, that (steadfast mind) is vajra.
