English

Two unused and undamaged vessels, like bowls overflowing with milk and honey, should be joined mouth to mouth, filled with butter and honey, and then the wheel should be placed therein. The katola bowls should be bound crosswise with unused and undamaged white thread, making it knotless. Place it on a white cushion filled with white cotton, sit with legs together on kusha grass, and with a peaceful mind facing east, sprinkle white meadow flowers soaked in camphor. Three times during the day and three times during the night, scatter them in six periods. Having previously accumulated merit, within the circle of the protective boundary, visualize oneself as Yamaraja, the terminator of death, arising from the syllable A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: a, Chinese literal meaning: no) above the lunar mandala, the white syllable ཀྵཾ (Tibetan: ཀྵཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: क्षं, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: ksham, Chinese literal meaning: ksham) completely transformed, from which arises a white five-pronged vajra, its nature like crystal and the lunar mandala. In front, place the wheel on a white mandala smeared with camphor. Visualize the wheel as the union of the lunar mandala arising from the syllable A (Tibetan: ཨ, Sanskrit Devanagari: अ, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: a, Chinese literal meaning: no), and mentally observe the one to be subdued residing therein, and then perform the empowerment. Bless a white vase filled with the juice of the five nectars mixed with milk, ground with a white sandalwood grinding stone, then wash with the water from the vase and perform the empowerment. Furthermore, visualize many perfect Buddhas, like the moon, holding white vases, performing empowerment and bathing, and then recite the mantra up to one hundred thousand times. These are the rituals of the peaceful samaya. Now, the increasing samaya will be explained. Write with peaceful saffron, and similarly write the increasing. The two wheels should face outwards. Adorn the name with Svaha (Tibetan: སྭཱ་ཧཱ, Sanskrit Devanagari: स्वाहा, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: svāhā, Chinese literal meaning: accomplishment), write the name of the one to be subdued. Place the katola bowl filled with butter and honey inside. Bind with yellow thread, and scatter with yellow flowers in three periods. Facing north, visualize oneself as the yellow Yamaraja. The one to be subdued is on a yellow and black moon. After washing with a yellow vase, visualize performing the empowerment, and then perform the extensive increasing recitation. Sanskrit Roman transliteration: devadatta puṣṭa kuru svāhā, Chinese literal meaning: Devadatta, Nourish, Do, Svaha).
