Those Hearers who, being utterly terrified by existence, regard the peaceful nature of consciousness as being like the extinction of a lamp, and perceive happiness in what is devoid of happiness. Turning their backs on the inconceivable body and wisdom. With a fearless body, one should abide in the preparation of feeling. Liberation like a lamp, his mind is Nirvana. This refers to being free from attachment even to the three realms and non-abiding Nirvana. This is not so, for having diligently worked on the cause for countless eons, just as samsara is endless, so is this lifespan endless. As far as the sky reaches, so far do all beings reach. As far as karma and afflictions reach, so far does my aspiration reach. Thus it is said. Aspiration also brings forth the fruit of how it is aspired. All phenomena are like conditions, utterly dependent on the root of intention. Whatever aspiration one sows, one obtains a fruit similar to that. Thus it is said. Abandoning the beginning and the middle. This means that previously it was shown that samsara has no beginning, thus the beginning is abandoned. For that which has no beginning, there cannot be a middle, for the middle is only relative to the beginning and the end. Therefore, the middle is abandoned. By that very fact, it is very clear that there is no end to this, so it was not said. If it is said that what cannot be shown, Nirvana by the root of virtue is not this, and Nirvana like the extinction of a lamp is not this. Then, how is it said that the complete Nirvana of the Tathagatas and others? With the ten powers of meaning, without interruption and merely generating the appearance of another body, this is established as Nirvana. As it is said in the chapter of the Noble Transcendent One: O sons of the Victorious Ones, the Tathagatas, Arhats, Perfectly Awakened Ones, who have completed the work of the Buddha, show the great Nirvana with the ten powers of meaning. What are the ten? Thus, truly showing that formations are impermanent, showing that all compounded things are unreliable, the side of Nirvana, without fear and with ease of going,

And the true manifestation of being free from all sufferings, and to the gods and humans who cling to the form body, to truly show that the form body is impermanent, and to truly unite with the Dharma body, and to fully show the irreversibility for the sake of the power of transformation, and to fully show that all actions cannot be the root cause and cannot be controlled, and that Nirvana is the supreme essence, to truly show it as the nature of fearlessness, and to fully show that arising and destruction will be separated, O sons of the Victorious Ones, the Dharma nature of the Buddhas, the Bhagavad-arhats, is also the same, completely accomplishing all the deeds of the Buddhas, all intentions are completely fulfilled, and the wheel of Dharma is greatly turned, all those to be tamed are greatly tamed, and all Bodhisattvas will be prophesied, attaining the incomparable state, completely entering into great Nirvana. O sons of the Victorious Ones, having truly seen these ten meanings, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Awakened One, will fully reveal the incomparable state, completely entering into great Nirvana. Thus, the yogi should, in accordance with what has been said, believe and contemplate in accordance with the true Bodhicitta, or simply contemplate and abide. Therefore, this is established as both the path and its result. In order to make this meaning clear to the retinue as well, the words "from then on" and so on are spoken, which are easy to understand and only repeat what has been said before. The commentary on this great Nirvana comes from elsewhere: Just as the directions of space are not permanent for all things, so too, the protector of secret mantras does not exist in all dharmas. Just as things exist in space and always appear, but that is not a place to exist, so too is the protector of secret mantras. Space and the three times, like the four ways one wants to separate, likewise, the protector of secret mantras, even without the three times, appears. It is merely a place to establish names, separate from the agent and so on. For space, it is just a term.
