And there is the teaching that the five aggregates are burned by the fire of emptiness, and likewise, all things are made to be without appearance, and even Mind-Only should be viewed as without appearance. And there is also the saying, "By generating pride with the mantra 'Oṃ śūnyatājñānavajrasvabhāva ātmako'haṃ (藏文,梵文天城体:शून्यताज्ञानवज्रस्वभाव आत्माकोऽहम्,梵文罗马拟音:śūnyatājñāna-vajra-svabhāva ātmako'ham,汉语字面意思:Emptiness-wisdom-vajra-nature-self-I)', one should meditate on Mount Meru, the sun, the moon, and so on, as emptiness." And similarly, after stating that the nature of secret mantra is pure, one should meditate on all things, without exception, as completely empty. The wise should meditate on their own body, both inside and out. These are scriptures. How should they be refuted? It is not like that, because the scriptures make everything empty of its own nature, without substance. For example, in the phrase "the five aggregates are burned by the fire of emptiness," that which is separate from one and many is called the fire of emptiness. Being burned by it means being made without self-nature, but it is not made into ashes, because it is said that it will arise again. Similarly, "made without appearance" means that by analyzing the self-nature that is separate from one and many, it becomes without appearance as it is. Having done that, even Mind-Only should be viewed in the same way. Similarly, all the words of the scriptures should be understood, and there is no need to elaborate further. When meditating on space and so on, is there awareness or not? Who would say there is no awareness? If there is truly no awareness, then where would the appearance of space appear? If the appearance of space does not appear, then what is being meditated on? Therefore, there is a conceptualization of the appearance of space. Similarly, it should be said when meditating on rabbit horns and so on. Then, will the awareness of the appearance of space be cut off or not? It will not be cut off, because the stream of awareness will continue as long as samsara exists. Then, should the awareness of the appearance of space and so on be said to be with or without an image? It should be said to be with an image. If so, then blue and so on are without an image.

It exists according to form. It is with form only by the form of the sky and so on. Like the form of darkness, the perception of the sky as blue appears. If that is the case, then the formless knowledge itself does not exist. Indeed, formless knowledge does not exist, even in dreams there is discernment. If one obtains correct knowledge, will one later become self-aware? Apart from drinking poison, there is no way to prove this with measure. Because at that time, in the state of deep sleep or fainting or death, how can there be knowledge? Because there is no entity of self-awareness. Therefore, self-awareness does not exist, because knowledge is the nature of self-awareness. If it is also non-existent, then how can one remember yesterday's place and food, etc., and the order of recalling previous lives, in the state of waking up from being overcome by sleep, or in the state of being born in the next world, since knowledge is the nature of self-awareness? Therefore, since another mind arises from the mind, it is proven that self-aware knowledge exists in all cases. Enough with the elaboration. This is the explanation of the fourth limb. If the body has no form, then benefiting sentient beings does not exist in any way. Similarly, without great compassion, benefiting sentient beings does not exist in any way, therefore the fifth limb is mentioned. As for "filled with compassion," the essence of compassion is compassion itself, and being completely filled with it is being completely perfect. What is that? It is the nature of what is called "to be accomplished." What kind of characteristic is called great compassion? The desire to truly remove the cause of suffering is great compassion. It also has three aspects: focusing on sentient beings, focusing on phenomena, and being without focus. Among them, "from suffering" refers to the characteristic of headache, etc., which is experienced manifestly. "From the cause of suffering" refers to whatever the ten non-virtuous actions, etc., are the cause of suffering, that is the cause of suffering, and removing from it is the great bliss of utter peace.
