If someone asks: Then it will become that things exist, because the nature of existing things is the ability to perform functions. Answer: That is not the case, because it is not contradictory to admit that they only appear separately, and because they are devoid of the nature of the order as previously stated. It is merely established as selflessness, not to deny that they merely appear separately, as it is said in the Extensive Sutra: "Subhuti, form is not different from emptiness, and emptiness is not different from form, but form is emptiness." Therefore, all conventional things, because they appear with the distinction of before and after, should not be doubted as being permanent. Also, for example, the sutra says: "O sons of the Victorious Ones, these three realms are only consciousness." This is also to dispel attachment to reality, that is, to merely dispel attachment to external objects, because from that, attachment to mere consciousness, such as happiness, may also appear. As it is said in the sutra: "Having relied on mere consciousness, one should not examine external objects, having focused on Suchness, one should also transcend mere consciousness." Therefore, like this, what contradicts the nature of the conceptual thoughts of "I" and "mine" and so on, is seeing selflessness in the manner just described. In order to dispel the inverted beings who are dominated by others, having generated the thought of supreme compassion, one should first turn to the realization that all phenomena are only emptiness. Even if distinguished by compassion, the stream of virtuous deeds such as giving, which are distinguished by taking giving etc. as objects, cannot in any way contribute to the attainment of the state of non-discrimination, because inverted clinging is the cause of generating conceptual thoughts that are in accordance with oneself. It is said: Without wisdom, like without eyes, these five perfections are like the blind, without guidance they cannot attain the fruit of perfect enlightenment. That's what it says. Clinging to the selflessness of all things is itself conceptual thought.

Moreover, since the undeluded nature is attachment to one's own object, it should be recognized that it is simultaneously contradictory to all deluded conceptualizations. If something is seen to contradict something else at the same time, even if it is very familiar, it will strongly reverse the conflict with oneself, like coldness from fire. Otherwise, due to deluded doubts, all expressions would become unreasonable. Here it is also said: If one individually understands selflessness in the Dharma, if one individually understands and cultivates it, that is the cause of the fruit of Nirvana; whatever other cause there may be will not lead to liberation. Thus it is said. Even if one is accustomed to selflessness, if it lacks the distinction of skillful means, then why is it unable to generate the omniscient wisdom that eliminates all the stains of conceptualization and benefits all beings? Therefore, one should strive to make skillful means very manifest. The nature of benefiting all beings is omniscient wisdom, and benefit also arises from ultimate vastness. Its cause is solely the habituation of skillful means, because habituation to selflessness is the fruit of merely abandoning conceptualization. That is: Because of profundity and vastness, non-conceptualization and complete maturation. Because these two are shown here, it is the unsurpassed skillful means. Thus it is said. Therefore, the non-deluded giving and so forth of a Bodhisattva are skillful means; if these are completely dedicated to omniscience, then they will become the cause of perfect Bodhi. It is also said: Giving and discipline, patience and likewise diligence, meditation and wisdom, completely dedicate to Bodhi. Do not cling to the aggregates of Bodhi and grasp them as supreme; to the initial practitioner, this should be taught. Thus it is said. That is not so, because there is no habituation of perfect Bodhi arising from the habituation of similar causes, and there is no cultivation that corresponds to the manifest habituation. In terms of its own nature, the fruit of profundity and vastness is accomplished from its own nature, and its nature
