Because those things appear as they truly are to them. Because appearances appear as false, the bodies, speech, and minds of the Buddhas, or the substances of earth, water, fire, and wind that are their basis, are not where they reside, because they have not made an impression on those things. Otherwise, the mantra itself would not change, because the meaning of the mantra is not fully understood, and because it lacks the power to save beings. If things that are not mantras also show many aspects of the mantra path, is that the wisdom of suchness? In this regard, it is also said, "The Tathagatas are," etc., where "mastery of meaning" refers to the power of meaning and the truth of meaning. "Like this" refers to what was just shown. "Knowing" refers to understanding. "What and what" refers to repetition, meaning that whatever dharma is taught, such as what is to be contemplated and recited, is understood in that way by the wisdom of suchness. If the truth of meaning is one, why are various dharmas shown? Therefore, it is said, "Knowing the thoughts of all beings," beings are those to be tamed, and their thoughts are also various. Therefore, the Dharma is taught according to the vows. If change is supreme, then are these five vows themselves not the nature of the wisdom of the nature of suchness? Here, it is said, "Son of the lineage," because there are those who abide in space, so it is the word of space, and the five aspects of bodhicitta abide in emptiness. Expressing its certainty is expressed in the manner of showing the vajra vows. Therefore, it should be regarded as the five aspects of the vajra vows. In this way, in reality, the mind of the three vajras as one is the vow of hatred. Realizing that all the Buddhadharma is merely wisdom is the vow of delusion. The wisdom of suchness of all Buddhas is the vow of desire. All beings are naturally luminous

To be perfectly united with the dharmas of all the Buddhas is the samaya of action. To realize that all Buddhas and oneself are equal is the samaya of the jewel. Here, aren't the Buddhas' coming and going, killing, stealing, and so on, existent? If those are not existent, then it is not permissible for them to appear there. Thus, the notion of inferiority is itself the reason. If the vajra samaya appears to be false, then at that time, to discriminate the inverted aspects of those, since it is so, from those, true wisdom like a mirror will not arise, even so, is the notion of inferiority itself the reason? Here, What is said as "son of lineage" etc., the churning stick is the wood rubbed from above. The churning base is the lower base. Moving is the action. What is called "condition" is the place of assembly. Although smoke may arise and not arise, what is called "not arising" indicates not approaching arising, just as saying "snow is destroyed" to indicate that snow is killed. Indicating here is explaining, because there is no need to do so, therefore it is explained. Like this and so on. What is called "that also," the word "also" is a جمع, meaning the meaning of smoke and fire. What is called "similarly" is by this very method. What is called "by going and coming etc." means that in one's own continuum, the aspects of not going and coming etc., like the place of smoke, and the fruits like mirror-like wisdom etc., like the place of fire, should be understood according to their close arising. What is called "those" refers to eliminating obscurations etc. What is called "said these words" is to clarify the meaning spoken by the Tathagata to the children. Among what is called "great wonder" etc., what is called "dharmas" refers to the dharmas of the Buddhas, in short, the wisdoms like a mirror, equality, individual discrimination, accomplishing activities, and the extremely pure wisdom of the dharmadhatu. What is called "great wonder" refers to indicating extreme vastness. What is called "equal to space" refers to extreme profundity, because it is free from all reasons of elaboration.

These are because they are equal to the sky. The vast and the profound show the nature of the complete Bodhicitta. The term "pure" means being free from obscurations, meaning for those things that have been clearly distinguished. It is wonderful to say that it is also taught in the conventional. In that, the word "and" is used for certainty. The word "also" is also used for certainty. Whatever the profound and vast Dharma of the Buddha is, that is the realm of the conventional, therefore it is conventional. The one who shows that Vajra Samaya is the teaching. Those teachings of the Shravakas etc. are also not. Not to mention the reasons for bad conduct. The Buddhas' teachings are all shown as conventional, but not in the way of their own nature. And why not? Therefore, it is said "non-conceptualization", because they are not the object of conceptualization either, so what need is there to discuss with words? Therefore, they are said to be conventional. Therefore, the Suchness of the conventional is called the vast Suchness, because it is the realm of children. The ultimate Suchness is the subtle Suchness, which is the realm of the noble ones. Like this, the conventional is also of three types: the imputed conventional is the nature of all phenomena being imputed. The knowing conventional is all wrong knowledge. The speaking conventional is what shows the ultimate truth through sound and conceptualization. The ultimate truth is also of three types: Suchness is the ultimate truth. The attained ultimate truth is true and correct wisdom. The ultimate truth to be attained is Nirvana, as it is said in the Differentiation of the Middle and the Extremes: "The imputed and the knowing, and likewise the speaking, are coarse." And "Meaning and attainment and realization, are considered the three types of ultimate truth." Like this it is taught. Among them, this Vajra Samaya and all other mantras are the speaking conventional, because they are the nature of individually distinguishing the truth. Individually distinguishing the truth is neither conceptualization nor non-conceptualization.
