Oh! When the attainment of appearance merges into luminosity, like water into water or oil into oil, the mind becomes the vajra of obstruction. From that, like a cloudless sky, the constantly appearing luminosity, extremely clear like the light of the sun, moon, fire, and jewels, is seen with the eye of wisdom as the nature of ultimate truth. This is the fifth sign. Moreover, in the Differentiation of the Limits of Action, it is said: 'First, it merges into water. Water also merges into fire. Fire merges into wind. Wind also enters into consciousness. That which is grasped by consciousness itself will also enter into luminosity.' Thus it is said. Thus, the three consciousnesses are purified, and when the four emptinesses become one, it is called great luminosity, great ultimate truth, the realm of dharma, suchness, the great bliss of the mind of enlightenment, prajnaparamita, nirvana, Buddha, liberation from karma and birth, all emptiness, manifest enlightenment, and the true limit. This is the explanation of the ultimate truth, the fifth limb. Explanation of the Samadhi of Union. In order to show the samadhi of union, "Stable Transformation" and so on are taught. Stable transformation is the true limit, that is, becoming stable. The vajra path is also the true limit, so it should be spread in the realm of space, in all the realms of the world. In order to stabilize how it is spread, "Remembrance" and so on are taught. Whatever was previously remembered, like a mirage, etc., having obtained the true limit, the attainment of appearance similar to that, should be spread from the very nature of great emptiness like darkness. From that, appearance arises, and the appearance of the nature of heat, extremely empty like sunlight, should be spread. From that appearance, the appearance of the nature of coolness, like a ray of light that empties emptiness, should be spread. That spreading is also called remembrance. Moreover, in the Glorious Supreme First One, it is said: 'From space, space arises. All emptiness is great space.' Thus it is said. Thus, when the four emptinesses become one, it is space.

Having illuminated all realms of the world with various appearances, when it manifests, one abides in the Samadhi of Union, abides in the Samadhi of Heroic Progress, abides in the Samadhi of Perfection, abides in the Samadhi of Non-Discrimination, the Dharma Realm is completely pure, purified, perfectly enlightened, the non-dual wisdom, Suchness, and the unsurpassed perfect enlightenment, non-abiding Nirvana, and the Suchness of all Dharmas. One who enters such a Samadhi of a learning yogi should also practice any path of desire, etc., with the meaning of non-duality. From the moment of first generating Bodhicitta until this Samadhi of Union is not manifest, until then, it should be known as the intermediate path to be learned. Moreover, as stated in the Sutra of the Samadhi of Heroic Progress: "Those noble beings who have attained the Samadhi of Heroic Progress are in the realm of all Buddhas. They wield the wisdom of self-mastery. Because one has not attained this Samadhi of Heroic Progress, I do not say that Bodhisattva has attained clairvoyance. Because one has not attained this Samadhi of Heroic Progress, I do not say that Bodhisattva has been purified. Because one has not attained this Samadhi of Heroic Progress, I do not say that Bodhisattva possesses generosity, discipline, patience, diligence, meditation, and wisdom. Because one has not attained this Samadhi of Heroic Progress, I do not say that Bodhisattva is learned. Because one has not attained this Samadhi of Heroic Progress, I do not say that Bodhisattva possesses confidence. Therefore, son of good family, the Bodhisattva who desires the supreme of all paths should cultivate this Samadhi of Heroic Progress, free from all arrogance." Thus, the Samadhi of Union has been explained, the fifth limb.

It has been divided. In order to show the path of spontaneous accomplishment, "middle" and so on are spoken. "Middle" refers to the Dharmakaya, because it is free from all extremes. Obtaining the Dharmakaya, after obtaining the Samadhi of Heroic Progress, one will not be long in obtaining it. As it is said in the Sutra of the Crown: "The reversed signs accumulated over eons, Even without abandoning, with heroic progress, This adorned king, in the end, after a long time, Will soon perfect the Dharmakaya." This is what is said. Among them, the phrase "not long in the end" means that after obtaining the Samadhi of Heroic Progress in the first moment, Bodhi and the wisdom of omniscience arise in the second moment, and in the third moment, one will be named Dharmakaya. Bodhi and omniscience refer to the subtle realm that focuses on the suchness of all dharmas, and the five wisdoms that are inseparable, arising in a spontaneously accomplished manner. As it is said in the Sutra of the Buddha Land: "Bodhi is the wisdom of equality, and omniscience is the wisdom of distinct discernment, and so on." This is what is said. These five wisdoms of Bodhi and omniscience are also of the same essence because they equally focus on the suchness of all dharmas here. As it is said in the Sutra of the Manifest Enlightenment of Vairochana: "These two, Bodhi and omniscience, are non-dual and cannot be made into two." This is what is said. The essence of the Dharmakaya, like space or shadow, is indivisible and indestructible. It is free from all defilements, such as the obscurations of afflictions, and completely possesses all the great qualities of the Buddha, relying solely on intention, and is endowed with the suchness of all dharmas and the wisdom that focuses on suchness in an inseparable manner. As it is said in the Sutra of Golden Light: "In order to completely remove the obscurations of afflictions and completely perfect virtuous dharmas, whatever is solely endowed with the wisdom of the suchness of all dharmas is called the Dharmakaya." This is what is said.
