The Secret Nectar of the Great Vajradhara's Path: Eleven Chapters. The Secret Nectar of the Great Vajradhara's Path. Eleven Chapters. First Branch: Explaining the Basis of Complete Physical Solitude. In Sanskrit: Mahavajradharomathakramopadesamritaguhya. In Tibetan: The Secret Nectar of the Great Vajradhara's Path. Homage to glorious Vajrasattva! May I attain perfect enlightenment, great bliss, the samadhi like a vajra, and the embodiment of the five wisdoms. I pay homage to Vajradhara. The supreme Dharma, like a lotus, the flawless teacher, Vajradhara. The second is the Vairochana family. Homage to the first arising Lord. The oral instructions of all the Tathagatas, the lineage of the Lamas, descending in order in dreams, like meeting a treasure of jewels. Fearing the danger of alteration, and the freedom of secret wisdom, for the sake of the compassionate, initiated disciples, I write this down for the purpose of embracing them. Therefore, from the body that arises and transforms from arising, transforming into obtaining the wisdom body of the Great Vajradhara, there are three paths: the path of first generating the mind of enlightenment, the path of newly entering the Great Vehicle, and the path of the yogi. The path of first generating the mind of enlightenment has six aspects: pleasing the noble and virtuous spiritual friend, receiving empowerment and listening to the sacred Dharma, having friendly companions, engaging in offerings, and finding harmonious places. The path of newly entering the Great Vehicle has four aspects: the samadhi of great compassion, the samadhi of the wheel of speech, the samadhi of the protective wheel, and the samadhi of emptiness. The path of the yogi has two aspects: the common path and the supreme path. The common path consists of the four vajras. The supreme path consists of the six branches. Thus, in the later tantra of the Great Yoga Tantra, the Glorious Guhyasamaja Tantra, it is said: "Through the distinction of common and supreme, the means of accomplishment transforms into two. The common is the four vajras, the supreme is the six branches." Thus it is said. Gold.

What are the four activities? In the root tantra it says: The first is emptiness, great enlightenment. The second is the arising of the seed. The third is the perfection of all forms. The fourth is the placement of letters. These four vajras are the means of common practice. It is said like this. These refer to the four: recitation, approaching, accomplishment, and great accomplishment, which are spoken in order. How is it said? Like this, from generating the earth element to meditating on the mandala of ultimate meaning, it is focused on enlightenment, and because of approaching the practice, it is called recitation. Before the three, approaching and so on, one meditates on the mandala of ultimate meaning, so it is also said that the first is the enlightenment of emptiness. From rising up to generating the samaya-being of the great Vajradhara, it is called approaching because of accomplishing and generating. After recitation, the deity's body arises from the cause of the three syllables, so it is also said that the second is the arising of the seed. On the body of the great Vajradhara, from placing Vairochana on the crown of the head to meditating on the samadhi-being, it is called accomplishment because of accomplishing one's own benefit. After approaching, the deity's body to be meditated upon, the body of the deity is perfected, so it is also said that the third is the perfection of form. From the initial union to the ultimate of the supreme king of action, it is called great accomplishment because of accomplishing the great activity of benefiting others. After accomplishing, it is led into the mandala of mantras, so it is also said that the fourth is the placement of letters. What are the six limbs? It is also said in the root tantra: Separate gathering and meditation, as well as life-force control and retention, mindfulness and samadhi, are called the six limbs of union. It is said like this. These are also explained in the root tantra: In all the various objects of the ten faculties, gathering desires separately, is called separate gathering. If the five desires are briefly summarized, through uniting them into the five Buddhas, examination is called meditation, and meditation transforms into five types, namely, conception and analysis.
