is explained. It is said so because it is naturally luminous, and because it eliminates all conceptualizations. If asked, how many are its divisions? The luminosity of knowledge and the knowable is explained here. That is, the luminosity of the knowable is the realm of reality, and the luminosity of knowledge is wisdom. It also has two aspects: naturally luminous and adventitious, the two that are free from defilements. That has been explained. Explaining the names: luminosity, non-conceptual, unconditioned, should be known as names. This is easy to understand. Again it is said: Through learning and non-learning, luminosity should be known as two. Grasping the whole and subsequently examining, is called the luminosity of learning. Non-learning is free from conceptualization, without object, pure, and primordially pure. Countless names are spoken by the Buddhas and their heirs. This is an intermediate verse. Furthermore: The cause is wisdom and samadhi, which transforms relying on conventional truth and ultimate truth, this is called time. When everything is without inherent existence, that is the explanation of the ultimate extent. This is the perfectly joyful ground, abiding in reality. Its conceptualizations are abandoned, and it turns towards the higher realms. The individual who, through the signless, focuses on it in the most excellent way, truly arises through a single union. The hero under the Bodhi tree, in a state of equipoise, luminosity is the basis for prophecy. Therefore, luminosity should be realized. This is an intermediate verse. Having thus extensively explained luminosity, now the union will be explained. So, what is the nature of union? Whatever is non-dual wisdom, is the nature of union. That is, the wisdom that is free from all aspects of conceptualization, is the nature of union. If asked, why is this called union? Because it is non-dual, because it does not abide in duality, because it is free from duality, and because it simultaneously focuses on duality, it is called union. If asked, how many are its divisions? Through learning and non-learning, union should be known as two. That is,
