Or, offer fragrant scents and so on with mantras and mudras. In this way, combine mantras and mudras. Extend and raise the sun hand, first make the mudra of incense. Om Hum Svaha. This is the mantra and mudra of incense. White wisdom skillfully combined, contemplate the mudra of flowers. Om Sum Svaha. This is the mantra and mudra of flowers. Bend the conch and lotus, skillfully form the mudra of burning incense. Om Ah Svahi. This is the mantra and mudra of burning incense. Sun vajra fist, with the tip of the ring finger pointing upwards. Om Shum Svaha. This is the mantra and mudra of light. Open the sun hand, raise the central finger. Om I Svaha. This is the mantra and mudra of offering food. Move the thumb from that mudra. Om Ghu Svaha. This is the mantra and mudra of the torma. Then, place the palms together at the heart, and circumambulate with a lotus-like rotation, prostrating with the five mandalas. Vairocana, Akṣobhya, Ratnasambhava, Amitābha, Amoghasiddhi, etc., all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, may the one called Che Gemowa, from this time onwards, until the essence of enlightenment is attained, I will generate the supreme Bodhicitta. Just as the protectors of the three times have determined to attain enlightenment, I will firmly uphold the three trainings of discipline, the accumulation of virtuous dharmas, and the discipline of benefiting sentient beings, each separately. Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, the supreme Three Jewels, the vows that generate the wealth of the Buddha, I will take them first today. I will also hold the vajra, bell, and mudra separately in suchness. In the supreme lineage of the great vajra, I will take the teacher himself. In the pleasing samaya, in the supreme lineage of the Ratna family, I will give the four kinds of generosity six times each day. In the lineage of the great enlightenment, in the lineage of the great lotus, I will take the three vehicles of outer, inner, and secret, each separately. Possessing all the vows, the work of offering as much as possible, in the great supreme lineage of karma, I will hold them separately in suchness. The supreme Bodhicitta. Having generated the supreme, in order to benefit all sentient beings, I will take all the vows without exception. I will liberate those who have not been liberated. I will free those who have not been freed. I will give breath to those who have not breathed, and I will establish them in nirvana. This is it. Then, abide with the mudra of samadhi, placing the eyes on the tip of the nose. R
