It has been explained up to "should do so." "Extremely ornate eight petals, along with pistil and stem," here refers to visualizing on top of an aquatic plant's flower, an eight-petaled lotus with essence. What to visualize? The sutra says, "On the egg-born cushion in the center," here, egg-born refers to the mind. Its cushion is the egg of essence. It means that in the center of the heart, one should visualize an eight-petaled lotus. Regarding the essence of the lotus and the mantra arranged on the petals and its additional explanations, it is: "One should arrange the letters to be arranged," and so on. Next, the sutra says to show the arrangement of letters: "In the center of that, consciousness and wisdom, these two should be combined," it means that in the center of that lotus, on the essence, one should arrange the essence of consciousness, the white Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,hūṃ,hum,吽). This is what the sutra says. "The east, full of loving-kindness, the petals with undisturbed seeds," it means that on the eastern petals, one should not arrange the nature of loving-kindness, the seed syllable of Akshobhya. "Compassion, the southern gate, the jewel seed is just that," it means that on the southern petals, one should arrange the nature of compassion, the seed syllable A (ཨ,a,a,阿) of Ratnasambhava. "On the petals of the western gate, the seed of Amitābha is arranged," it means that on the western petals, one should arrange the nature of joy, the seed syllable A (ཨ,a,a,阿) of Amitābha. "On the petals as large as Mount Meru, one should contemplate the chief Amoghasiddhi," here, "the direction of Mount Meru" refers to the northern petals. There, one should arrange the nature of equanimity, the seed syllable Āṃ (ཨཱཾ,āṃ,ang,阿) of Amoghasiddhi. These four letters should be hidden. "The first seed that emits sound, drops and bindus in order," these have already been explained. "The fourth letter is arranged, adorned with white light," this refers to the color of the above four seed syllables. The sutra says to arrange letters on the corner petals: "In the four directional corners, the neuter as mentioned before," refers to Ṛ (རྀ,ṛ,ri,哩), Ṝ (རཱྀ,,ri,哩), ḷ (ལྀ,ḷ,li,利), Ḹ (ལཱྀ,,li,丽) these white letters. "The mind is in the center of that, the letters should be contemplated," it means that these letters should be contemplated as emptiness, in the center of the mind.

One should meditate, thus it is said. Having doubts about this meaning, Vajrapani again asked: Emptiness is without characteristics. Thus and so on. Regarding the absence of characteristics, from the empty mind arise compassion and other qualities, and the nine letters also appear, so he asked. In response, the Blessed One said: Listen, Vajra, it is just that. Thus and so on. Among them, by showing emptiness with characteristics, the essence of non-essence. The meaning is: showing the characteristic of emptiness means that there is actually no substance, but it appears. For example, like nectar, like the ears of a water tree. It is said that like the water tree has no pith, but the fruit of the ears that are produced, when eaten, has a taste like nectar. Similarly, the compassion that arises from the empty mind also becomes the cause of the fruit of the enjoyment body of the Tathagata. After briefly explaining the meaning, he wanted to explain it in detail again and said: The wisdom that dwells in the center. Thus and so on. Among them, wisdom is the seed syllable Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽). The form of wisdom is formless. The meaning is: the seed syllable Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) is emptiness, without form. So what is it like? The characteristic of no characteristic. The meaning is: although it has the characteristic of the shape of the letter, its nature is emptiness, so it is without characteristic. Why? The wisdom body is without stain. The meaning is: the body of Dharma-nature wisdom is not stained by things, because its nature is luminosity.
