Therefore, if nets and so on are not manifested by one's own mind, how can they prevent? (The scripture says:) "Demons cannot become demons." This is said here. Demons refer to those mentioned earlier. Demons cannot become demons means that they will not cause harm. The meaning here is that nets and so on are made by the mind, and at that time, demons are also made by the mind, because demons themselves do not exist elsewhere. How can they cause harm? Harm depends on them, and if demons do not exist, how can they cause harm? Some might think: Although experiencing demons and the suffering they cause, saying that they do not exist is really impossible. (The scripture says:) "Bound by one's own mind." This is said here. At that time, because of the experience, it must be proven that everything is one's own mind, because the external will be denied by reason, and it is actually impossible, so this idea must arise from within. What will happen then? (The scripture says:) "Already bound." This is said here. Just as demons and so on are manifested by the mind and experienced, being bound by nets and so on, and driving away enemies, can also be well experienced and successful. (In order to) show this principle, (the scripture says:) "If one's own mind is tamed, how can demons cause harm?" This is said here. Taming the mind means knowing one's own nature. Knowing one's nature can tame afflictions, and when freed from the bonds of afflictions, other demons will also retreat, because they are the root of afflictions. These explanations show that if one knows one's nature, just as there are no nets and so on, demons also do not exist. Experientially, just as there are demons, there are also nets and so on, so perfect protection can exist very well. Just as it is also said in the scripture: "As water poured into water, merges into one taste. The mind is the source of good and evil, where is there an incompatible antidote?" Now, in order to show the pure aspect of the square mandala smeared with incense in the place of meditation, equality and so on are spoken. Equanimity mind,

are the minds of the three realms and, ༄༅། །What arises from the mind is naturally luminous and equal. The purity of the mind's equality is the meaning of smearing the square mandala of incense. The purity of scattering flowers is spoken of, such as the body, etc. Whoever has the placement of the ste'u on the body and the anointing with sandalwood, that is, placing the ste'u on the body and anointing with sandalwood, without attachment or hatred to either, the mind is balanced, that is the patience of the mind abiding in equality. The purity of patience is the scattering of flowers by the yogi. The purity of burning incense is spoken of, such as equality, etc. Purity, self-nature purity, is (Tibetan: སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་ཤུདྡྷཿ་སརྦ་དྷརྨཱཿ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: स्वभावशुद्धः सर्वधर्माः, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: svabhāvaśuddhaḥ sarvadharmāḥ, Chinese literal meaning: self-nature purity all dharmas), (Tibetan: སྭ་བྷ་ཝ་ཤུདྡྷོ྅ཧཾ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: स्वभावशुद्धोऽहं, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: svabhāvaśuddho'haṃ, Chinese literal meaning: self-nature purity I), therefore, burn with the incense of purity in equality. The purity of the lamp is spoken of, such as wisdom, etc. The lamp of wisdom is the lamp of the purity of wisdom. Light it, it is the remainder. The three realms, etc., after the lamp of wisdom destroys the darkness of the three realms, as desired, it makes the path of suchness clearly appear, it is considered to be combined with purity. Those are saying that when practicing meditation, one must first purify with these purities. I have already clearly explained it in the practice method. In order to show the summary of the scriptures, it is said that the mind, etc., with those such as the gift of fearlessness, one must make all sentient beings happy, and at the time of offering and the time of torma, completely combine those purities, that is the meaning. The perfect place for meditation is spoken of, pleasing, etc., easy to understand. Those are, ༄༅། །Showed the common actions of all meditations. One should generate the Vajrasattva of Vows. Previously, abiding in the place shown, with vajra fists bound at the heart. Reciting the three purities, meditate on emptiness. In the city on the summit of Mount Meru, on a lion and moon seat, visualize oneself as a vajra born from the syllable (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanized: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum). Transform into what is called the Wisdom Bell. What is called the Wisdom Bell is that wisdom is a woman. What is called transforming into a bell is to meditate on the bell born from the syllable A as the Prajnaparamita. Placing a cubit's length in between. What is called in between is between oneself and wisdom. Visualize that there is a separation of about a cubit in front of oneself. Abiding by looking with equanimity. What is called abiding by looking with equanimity is that oneself and wisdom both abide directly with each other, looking at each other's faces. In order to explain that point in detail, it is said to meditate on the syllable (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanized: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) at the heart. What is called meditating on the syllable (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanized: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) at the heart is to meditate on the syllable Hum on the moon mandala at the heart after making offerings and taking refuge in the three jewels, etc. Then what should be done? It is said to make everything empty with wisdom. Visualize that the light of the flames of the syllable (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanized: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) merely touches, and all three realms are visualized as emptiness. In order to indicate that point, it is said the three realms, which is easy to understand. What is called as before is to remember the way the aggregates, etc., were previously shown to be emptiness. In order to indicate the palace, it is said equality, etc. What is called the palace, etc.
