Regarding the explanation of division: "Bishu" (Tibetan: བི་ཤུ་) should be observed like the middle month of summer. "Day" means the part of the day. Night is the part of the night. Ten should be multiplied by three. The meaning of "should be multiplied by three" is that there are thirty in total, and it should be known that both parts are also thirty each. Regarding the statement of the small month of winter, in "eight and" etc., "eight and ten should be multiplied by two," which means twenty-eight. "Two and ten should be multiplied by three," which means thirty-two. Regarding the statement of the first month of spring, in "six and" etc., "six and ten should be multiplied by two," which means twenty-six. "Four and ten should be multiplied by three," which means thirty-four. The remaining part is easy to understand. In order to approximate the hours of day and night in the middle month of spring, it is said, "Three hundred fifty and five twos, the moments of breath's hours pass." Three hundred is three hundreds. Fifty is the number fifty. Five twos are ten, and ten and fifty become sixty. Breath is the air flowing through the nostrils, so when three hundred and sixty breaths flow, "the moments of hours pass" becomes one hour. With the number of sixty hours, it is called one day and night. This is easy to understand. In some texts, "three hundred and sixty" appears, and the meaning there is the same. Just like the order of the months, make marks in the same order. The meaning is that, just like the order of the months, after making marks such as three hours on the tables in order, observe them. The hours of breath etc. are complete, and apart from Bishu, gradually increase and decrease. The meaning is that, among the hours in which the breaths of the twelve months are completely full, apart from the month of Bishu, the subtle increases and decreases in the hours of day and night of the remaining months should also be understood from the previously mentioned reasoning. Just like the difference between actions and non-actions, breaths should be gradually grasped. The meaning is that the difference between actions and non-actions is peaceful and other virtuous actions and fierce actions.

And other non-virtuous classifications. One should grasp the breaths in order. The saying, "One should grasp the breaths in order," means that just as one combines the winds and so forth, one should grasp the breaths separately in order. Among them, wind is six fingers. Fire is four fingers. Water is twelve fingers. The Great Lord should know that it moves in sixteen fingers. In order to explain the nearby indications of "twenty thousand" and so forth, "ka" and "ra" and so forth are mentioned, and the word "etc." is mentioned. The word "etc." should be combined with both. Therefore, it will become "ka" etc., the twenty-four letters of ka etc., and the six letters of ra etc., are ka and ra etc. Therefore, it shows the mark of twenty-four and six. The saying "time periods" means that the mark of six time periods should be grasped, twenty-four and two sixes, which will become thirty-six. Represented by two progressions. The saying "Represented by two progressions" means that the mark of thirty-six itself is divided equally into two parts, which becomes eighteen and eighteen, and eighteen is the mark of two shoulders. The saying, "Both should be transformed into ten," means that those two should be transformed into ten and counted, so it will also become two hundred and sixteen. From that, two hundred are mixed into one, and a mark of two hundred is made, and from two eighteens, a mark of ten and a mark of six are made separately, and a mark of sixteen is made. If two dots are placed next to it, it will become twenty-one thousand six hundred, which becomes the mark of the number of hours in a year. The saying, "With it possessing the mark," means that with that mark of the number of hours in a year, the mark of the breaths of day and night is also shown, which will become twenty-one thousand six hundred. Now, in order to show the calculation of tides, it says, "Grasping the Lord of Speech," and so on. Among them, the Lord of Speech is the letters of the questioner's language. All is ultimate, for example, if "ma" is said, it becomes the mark of the ultimate twenty-five of ka. Similarly, it should also be combined with other consonants. Vowel letters are also separated from consonants, like that.
