Chapter Division First. Chapter Division First. ༄༅།། In Sanskrit: Śrīcatuḥpīṭhatantrarājasya smṛtini bandhanāmāṭīkā. In Tibetan: Commentary on the King of Tantras, Glorious Four Seats: The Reason for Remembrance. Homage to the Great Compassionate Noble Avalokiteśvara. Where everywhere flowers and fruits of various forms are simultaneously present. Ripening and pure, the glorious fruit trees are exceedingly fragrant and flavorful. The delightful shade adorns the forest groves, like the Four Seats. I pay homage to those who understand through devotion to the teachings of the Sage. Although in between, qualities may not increase, Yet elsewhere, qualities are exceedingly abundant. The source of many nectars, the Tantra of the Four Seats, Is like the root of the lotus and water lily. For the gods residing on the golden mountain, Those with the power to taste nectar desire to clarify its meaning. One who is capable is powerful, Unlike what appears to be my field of activity. Just as deer, elephants, and jewels Cannot be seized by force, so too, from within the dust of afflictions, Cut off their roots, and this is like flowing. However, just as iron, through the power of medicine, Becomes digestible and refined for people to eat, so too, relying on the words of the guru, to differentiate, Having the ability, therefore, here I proceed straight. Since the minds of sentient beings are diverse and dissimilar, No one can please them all. Having made the meaning of what is closely shown and in accordance with it A reason for remembrance, to those who delight in external terms, such as combinations, connections, word classes, and various words, May the wise ones complete this precious tantra's meaning themselves. Here, this tantra is compiled from the essence of the eighteen myriads of tantras, the twelve thousand of the Glorious Four Seats Tantra. Therefore, since it is a compilation, words such as "Thus have I heard" are not placed at the beginning of this tantra, because they have already been spoken there. Therefore, to "Yogini," etc., should be added "The net of yoginis is vast, the wisdom is the emptiness of the自在者, the all-knowing ones spoke thus." This

The term 'speech' refers to the ultimate expression of praising the words spoken by the Bhagavan, and the words that encompass all the continuities of the nature of the speaker. The term 'spoken' means that the continuum is spoken without error, showing and clarifying as it is. Then, the continuum of the speaker is shown. 'The characteristics of revealing secrets,' and so on, show what is to be said, and it should be seen that they also show the relationship between the speaker and what is to be said. Here, it is manifested as desired, and it should be known that its intention is to embrace beings. How can it be shown without error? 'By the all-knowing,' and so on, is said, because he knows all things as they are in the way that all things are impermanent, so he is the all-knowing, that is, the Bhagavan. He is the one who preached the perfect teacher. The distinction of that is said in 'Yogini,' and so on. Yoga is the wisdom that is inseparable from method and wisdom. Here, wisdom is without self-nature, and method is completely pure compassion. Thus it is also said: 'Method and wisdom are equally entered, it is called yoga, whoever has no real wisdom, the nature of things is method.' So it is said. Those who have yoga are yoginis. The net is the completely pure collection of them. The term 'savior' means that Sam (Sanskrit, सम,Sam,all) is all sentient beings in samsara, and var (Sanskrit, वर,var, savior) is that they save and universally protect them, so it is called that.

Said (this). "Abiding in a pure place," the so-called pure ones are the gods. Because they protect and save, it is a place, namely Mount Sumeru. Abiding means abiding in that place. It means abiding in a pavilion on top of Mount Sumeru. The so-called "all-knowing" means the perfection of self-interest. The so-called "possessing wisdom and power" means the perfection of his retinue. The so-called "abiding in a pure place" means the perfection of benefiting others. The so-called "net of yoginis, the totalizer" means the perfection of his retinue. Because they are established by unerringly revealing, such as the purpose of revealing, and the revealing, and the revealer, and the perfection of the place, etc., are spoken of in order. In order to show the perfection of the retinue in that place, it is said, "possessing the qualities of taming," etc. The one possessing the qualities of taming is Maitreya. The unpleasant one is Vajrapani. The hanging one is Samantabhadra. The three-necked one is Akashagarbha. Mount Sumeru is Nivarana-Vishkambhin. The top of Mount Sumeru is Kshitigarbha. The lotus is Lokeshvara. The wide lotus is Manjushri. Because he is the chief of the Bodhisattvas, these eight are mentioned. Eighty kotis of yoga masters are the Bodhisattvas such as those chief deities. Among those possessing so many, looking at Vajrapani and smiling, smiling means slightly laughing with the light of the teeth. It is the remainder of "all-knowing." Why? Because the retinue of the Bhagavan, etc., wishing to hear the auspicious four seats, knowing the minds of others, and Vajrapani being able to gather, thinking that he wants to make me request, by looking at him, he encourages and shows joy with a smile. To show that he is ready to request, it is said, "after smiling." The so-called "after doing" is the intermediate offering. Because he holds the vajra in his hand, he is Vajrapani. The so-called "from the seat" is the moon.
