The meaning of arising. What is meant by "arising from a cause" is arising from interdependence. What is meant by "cause" is the cause that becomes the main one, namely the subtle element. As it is said: "Wind is a subtle form, and mixed with... arises from the gates of the senses, and focuses on the objects. When it has appearance, becoming the nature of wind, then how can all the formless natures be destroyed?" Thus it is said. What is meant by "spoken by the Tathagata" is that it is taught by the all-knowing one. What is the cessation of these, it is also said, this is an additional phrase. The cessation of those dharmas is the ultimate truth, namely luminosity. It is also the meaning of separately showing the meaning of liberation by the three completely pure ones of self-nature, appearance, and emptiness. As it is said: "What is the purity of the three emptinesses? It is said to be luminosity. The three wisdoms are completely pure, and are spoken of in the place of all emptiness. After the wisdom is purified, it is that nature, and the unsurpassed all-knowing one. There is no appearance and no change, non-duality and extreme tranquility, it is neither existent nor non-existent, transcending the realm of pure conduct. Therefore, from the purity of luminosity, the three wisdoms arise, possessing the thirty-two marks, and perfectly endowed with the eighty minor marks, all aspects are completely complete, and the all-knowing one arises from this." Thus it is said. The great Shramana said this. What is meant by "said thus" is the meaning of the verse of dependent origination spoken by the Tathagata. Therefore, it is said, so it is said "said thus." Who is that? It is said "great Shramana," who is the compiler, the noble Ananda. Who spoke those words? It is Shariputra and Vajrapani in the Vajrayana. In order to separately show that there is no difference between samsara and nirvana for those with extremely pure wisdom. Therefore, it is said, "Samsara is pure by nature," etc. Among them, there are three types of samsara: the samsara of birth, the samsara of death, and the intermediate samsara.
