Namely: investigation, analysis, joy, and bliss. Among them, investigation refers to grasping all things externally and internally. Analysis refers to determining its essence and thoroughly understanding its nature. Joy refers to seeing the body of emptiness, becoming attached to it, and abiding without changing the mind. Bliss refers to the mind merging with the body, becoming unwavering with the clear nature of equal taste. For the sake of taming, one will soon see the body of the emanation itself. This is because the Tathagata, for the benefit of sentient beings, shows the body to be tamed with the body of great compassion by the power of accumulating merit and making aspirations, which is for the sake of those to be tamed. "Not long" means that the practice of meditation is pure. It is also said: "By the purity of meditation practice, the five direct perceptions will be obtained, O wonderful lord of men." It is said. The practice of meditation refers to the yogi who has previously received empowerment and accumulated merit, and who has practiced deity yoga and recitation, etc., practices the completion stage, straightens the body, the gaze of the eyes, and controls the breath and effort, and holds the mind of enlightenment, etc., practicing according to the instructions of the guru, which is pure practice. So, what are the signs of self-arising? From the two types of external signs and internal signs, the external signs also include the signs of daytime yoga and the signs of nighttime yoga. Among them, the signs of daytime yoga are like the rising moon, like the mandala of the sun, like a mirror, like a rainbow, like a bindu, and like five rays of light appearing as small as the tip of a hair. Nighttime is also like smoke, like a mirage, like the sky being clear, like a butter lamp, and like a cloudless sky. Among them, like smoke is the first to make the yogi have faith, and the remaining ten are to make the practice that appears from the outside correct.

Earth-born is not. The sign of illness is below the navel, the true Bodhicitta is black in color, the size of a hair, one finger wide, or like spreading white mustard, or like a stretched white silk thread is visible. As it is said: As long as within the bindu, there is a black line the size of a hair tip, emitting immaculate light, the passage of time is seen. Seeing it, the yogi will attain the state of clear light. This arises from the immaculate body, speech, and mind, not from the defiled body and speech. Thus, when the signs of pure meditative union appear, five or six kinds of clairvoyance are seen. These are the divine eye, the flesh eye, the wisdom eye, the Dharma eye, and the wisdom eye. Therefore, the path of manifestation will be seen. Therefore, it is said that the yogi himself in this life. Manifestation is uncertain, forms are diverse, the body is what is seen by the eye. Are the diverse forms also animals and so on? Therefore, the Buddha and all Bodhisattvas are said to have the form body with various forms, among which the Buddha is adorned with marks and signs, and the Bodhisattvas are surrounded by their retinue, such as Akashagarbha and so on. Having the form body with various forms refers to the body color and hand gestures and so on. If it is seen in this way but not heard? It is said that those who dwell in the middle of the sky will be seen. The sky is the intermediate space. Middle means in the realm. Dwelling there, the sound of the Bodhisattvas and Shravakas preaching the Dharma will also be heard by the divine ear. Therefore, the form seen by the yogi is the Nirmanakaya, the sound heard is the Sambhogakaya, and what is heard by the mind is the Dharmakaya. If seeing and hearing in this way, yet regarding what is seen and heard as external objects, not being grasped by the guru's instructions, it will become an obscuration of knowledge. That is, appearing like water, immaculate, with various colors, all forms are one's own mind, not another's.
