It depends on that. Therefore, connecting other things to other things that are going to be explained is to create wonder for the ignorant. Therefore, the initial introductory words were also spoken by the Bhagavan. Monks, my teachings should be collected as 'Thus have I heard.' Therefore, the collector said, 'Thus have I heard.' Having understood what one has heard, one teaches the Dharma, and having heard from the teacher, one collects it. Therefore, the word 'heard' indicates the collector. If one has not heard directly, or has heard in another way, then the collector is not reliable. To clarify these two situations, the two words 'Thus have I' are spoken. Among them, 'I' means that I have heard from the teacher himself, and not from other hearings. 'Thus' means to collect as it is, meaning 'I have heard only this, not otherwise.' To suit the occasion, sometimes the teacher resides, and to suit the occasion, the retinue gathers, therefore the introduction 'At one time' etc. is spoken. 'At one time' means at some time. 'Bhagavan' refers to the Vajradhara who has the body of the joyful Vajra. Because he possesses six qualities such as power, he is called 'Bhagavan', as it is said: Power and beauty, splendor and fame and wisdom, diligence perfectly endowed, these six are called 'Bhagavan.' He who possesses these qualities is called 'Bhagavan.' 'Residing' refers to the place where the Buddhas dwell. There are also four ways in which the Buddhas dwell: dwelling by conduct, dwelling by teaching the Dharma, dwelling by entering into samadhi, and dwelling by abiding inwardly. The cause of universal abiding is dwelling, and the Buddhas, the Bhagavans, are always abiding. Therefore, the bodily activities of the Buddhas, the Bhagavans, are dwelling by conduct. The speech activities of those, that is dwelling by teaching the Dharma. Those

The activity of the mind in the samadhi of Tingngezin or the ordinary samadhi is to abide in samadhi. For the sake of the Buddhas dwelling happily in the Dharma of Vision, and for the sake of gathering gods and others, those activities of the mind abide in the correct establishment within. Where does it abide? In the Vajra of body, speech, and mind of all Tathagatas. The body, speech, and mind of all Tathagatas are the collection of the three secrets. This is both body, speech, and mind, so it is called that. It is also the nature of the Bhagavan Vajradhara, the source of Dharma. That itself is the extremely pure Suchness of all the secrets of the Tathagatas, the nature of Suchness itself. Because it is the collection of the three secrets, therefore it is triangular. With the extremely pure Suchness, it is white like the autumn moon and empty inside. Because it is wider and wider from above, it is purified by the order of great joy and so on, therefore it is wider and wider from above. That itself is the bhaga (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) of Vajra Yogini, such as eyes and so on. The bhaga (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) of those is the body of the infinite Dharmas without outflows. By that itself, the body, speech, and mind of all Tathagatas are also that, and the bhaga (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) of Vajra Yogini is also that, so it is called that, which is to gather universally. "To those" means in that palace. For example, if it is said that the householder lives in the city, it means that he lives in the mansion of the city. Seeing the Bhagavan residing in that secret place of Dharma, it is certain that the Bhagavan will teach the secret and most secret Dharma there, so the gathering of the retinue in accordance is an implied statement. That retinue is Bodhisattvas such as Vajragarbha, and eyes and so on, and Vajra Yoginis such as Gauri and so on. "There" means residing there. "Taught" means for whose sake was it taught? For the sake of those who are afflicted by the desire to hear. What was taught? That is, "All Tathagatas" and so on. Tathagata is that which should be traveled as far as
