Oh! The six internal places and the six external realms. Their purity is shown as being free from grasping and being grasped. As it is taught by "Vajra Undecaying Body," and so on. Having shown the purity of the deities, in order to show the purity of the central main deity with eight faces, in order to show it, therefore it says, "The emptiness of the hands." Among them, internal emptiness, external emptiness, internal-external emptiness, emptiness of emptiness, great emptiness, ultimate emptiness, conditioned emptiness, unconditioned emptiness, extreme emptiness, emptiness of beginninglessness and endlessness, emptiness of non-abandonment, emptiness of self-nature, emptiness of all dharmas, emptiness of self-characteristics, emptiness of non-apprehension, emptiness of essence. Among them, what is called internal emptiness refers to the eye faculty and so on as internal emptiness. The object of the eye, form, and so on, is called external emptiness. The mind that thinks these two are empty is also empty, so it is called internal-external emptiness. What is called emptiness of emptiness refers to the mind that thinks all dharmas are empty is also emptiness, so it is called emptiness of emptiness. What is called emptiness of the eastern direction and so on is called great emptiness. What is called ultimate emptiness refers to nirvana being also empty, so it is called ultimate emptiness. What is called conditioned emptiness refers to the desire realm, the form realm, and the formless realm. These are called conditioned emptiness. What is called unconditioned emptiness refers to the absence of birth, abiding, and cessation, which is called unconditioned emptiness. What is called extreme emptiness refers to the emptiness of the two views of permanence and annihilation, which is called extreme emptiness. What is called emptiness of beginninglessness and endlessness refers to the absence of going and coming. This is called emptiness of beginninglessness and endlessness. What is called emptiness of non-abandonment refers to the fact that because there is no abandonment, it is called emptiness of non-abandonment. What is called emptiness of self-nature refers to the self-

Because nothing can be made of it, it is called emptiness of self-nature. The emptiness of all dharmas means that emptiness is of both conditioned and unconditioned things, so it is called the emptiness of all dharmas. Emptiness of self-character means that all dharmas are empty by their own self-character, so it is called emptiness of self-character. Non-apprehension emptiness means that the dharmas of the three times are not apprehended, so it is called non-apprehension emptiness. Essence emptiness means that things born from causes and conditions do not exist in ultimate truth, so it is called essence emptiness. The purification of these is the sixteen mudras of the hands. 'Feet all pure of demons' means destroying the demons of afflictions, etc. How does it destroy them? Through the power of wisdom. Wisdom is also of four types: emptiness of things, emptiness of non-things, emptiness of self-nature, and emptiness of other self-nature. Among these, emptiness of things means that things are empty by their own self-nature. Emptiness of non-things means emptiness by non-things. Emptiness of self-nature means emptiness by self-nature. Emptiness of other self-nature means that because the other itself is empty by self-nature, it is called emptiness of other self-nature. The purification of these is shown as four feet. 'Faces of the eight liberations' means: one with form contemplates form, and realizing the sublime liberation through the body, abiding after learning the conduct of renunciation, abiding in the sphere of infinite consciousness, abiding in the thought that space is infinite, abiding in the sphere of nothingness, abiding in the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, and cessation of feeling and perception. The purification of these is the eight faces. 'Pure eyes are three Vajra-holders' means that the purification of body, speech, and mind are the three eyes. 'By what and what is the world bound?' means that the knowledge bound by the darkness of discrimination is liberated by the appearance of that knowledge itself.
